Having your choice of different ratios is a big plus!
As is with the new halfshafts 350-400 rwhp shouldn't be a problem? I am not including drag strip launch's with sticky tires, but for autocross and tracking it should hold up. You can always put a pump on the diff if needed but diff oil temps shouldn't be that high for just doing track sessions. At least in Ga ...Az is a bit warmer🙂.
Wish we could get the mazda speed hood scoop from the old days with this kit. That could free up a little more hood clearance? Anyone thought about the newer model of the lfx? I forget the acronym but it does have about 20 more hp.
Keep up the good work!

the OE Mazda axles can handle that. So you likely won’t ever have any issue at all. What you really need is the taller ratio R&P range that the 8.8 offers.

I had not taken the time to do the conversions, but you are absolutely correct.

To throw a curve in this thread I am thinking about the LGZ engine........many questions about if it is possible. I don't know enough to speak on it yet. But am actively starting to look. Sorry for that little highjack. If I find anything about it that makes it possible I will start another thread.
This thread is too cool to highjack in any way. Sorry op.

The LGZ engine looks to be designed as a truck engine, maybe you are thinking of the LGX which powers the 2016+ Camaros? The LGX engine seems like the next logical step for Andrew at Keisler to try and develop for the swap kit.

I'm in the process of this swap and have a few questions:
  • Is the reason for removing the crank pulley only to access bolts for engine pan removal? The RX8 reluctor wheel bolts on without having to remove it, right?
  • Did you paint the engine mount towers? The silver metal things. I'm not sure if they're coated or should be painted
  • Do you know the torque spec for the Camaro oil pressure sensor and the oil pressure sensor adapter into the block? (this is for the Track Package oil filter block)
  • Did you need a shorter intake manifold bolt for the rear spot? The FWD application uses six equal length bolts, but the RWD app has one short I think. If so, do you know the PN?
I'm sure I'll have more. Thanks!

Yes, remove crank pulley for oil pan bolts. Reluctor adapter goes on with crank bolt.
Did not paint mounts, they are galvanized.
I can't remember the specs off the top of my head, but they are in the swap videos. Also located here.
Yes bolts are equal lengths, but he supplies a bushing to take up the space on the rear bolt.

Hope this helps.
