on the record i am stating my swap will be completed under at or around $5000 excluding price of the car, that is all. ill make sure to let you guys know how it goes and ill complete a write up

I know the chance of someone coming back and saying "Hey guys, you were right, it failed..." are non-existent, not going to happen.
But has anyone ever come back and said "Hey guys! I did it! Right on budget!!!"

So getting back to the thread topic , if you are going to do a swap , what is the best engine and why ........... ?
REW turbo
20B NA
20B turbo
26B NA

Keeps the behavior and engine dynamic of the Renesis while being able to produce respectable AND USEABLE power. By far the best sounding at any RPM or load. Costs about the same as any other swap except for the REW (Which is a bit cheaper)

LOL......I was thinking about going to a 20B Turbo at one point. One of the shop car is making 700HP at lowish boost...
Just couldn't justify needing that kind of power......or burning that much gas

Yep!
And with the newer BW EFR turbos it gets even better.
... But with all this talk of how a turbo Renesis is so great then you don't need to do a swap

Yup, it's not really usable, street or track. The only track cars making that kind of power are either F1 (lots of aero), NASCAR (never have to let off), or Unlimited Time Attack (astronomical parts consumption for a couple laps)
Also, you forgot the (correct) option: Sell it and buy something good. I think you guys swapping are out of your minds. The RX-8 is a slow car with great handling, if you don't want that... buy another car.
