I don't of one single LS swapped RX-8 that was not sold soon after it was "finished". Including the nicest one done to date that has been for sale for over a year and has dropped $38,000.00 in price to about $30,000.00 last i checked. Built LSX, Moton suspension, Wedsports, etc.

 

But I am sure someone would rather have a half assed built one with a stock high mileage LS1 in a beat to **** rolling chassis for $14,000.00,

 

Man im already famous around here. Car is for sale and im driving it everyday until it does sell. And i never mentioned i do swaps to make money. I am only selling this car bc of school. Otherwise id keep it. 9k if you have an issue, you have my number. As far as TFs car, that is ZO6 money. My car is cheaper than a C5 and better in every way. Ive owned two.

Yeah, a 2005 Z06 with considerable mileage on it. And then you are stuck with a 2005 Vette interior.

 

The LS swapped R3 has 7,015 miles on the chassis. The MSRP for a brand new R3 was $32k. The current price is $38,000. So basically you get a brand new R3 with a very well done LS swap in it for an extra $6,000. The dealership selling it is the same dealership that got delivery of the R3 from the factory, no private owner listed on the carfax yet.

Not sure what this considers "considerably high" but it isnt a rotary so its not dont at 20k miles. And yes you can get a clean low mileage ZO6 and even an LS3 car (which i prefer) for less than 30k. But wait who am i kidding. He has a $50k+ RX8 that coukdnt get 15k for if he decided to sell it.

 

Couldnt agree more man. And at the end of you day, you have a 25K car brand new and the vette is a 50K, not to mention everything on the vette is better. I love my rx8, but I swear you guys are brain washed with these cars

 

Has an LS swap 8 and a stock 8 ever been compared together on a track in a side by side.
Maybe not a race but overall handling???

 

A ten year old Vette, is a ten year old Vette. 60,000-70,000 miles is still considerable mileage, especially if it was tracked and a lot of Z06's are beat on hard. Sure they can last a while, but like any car it depends on the life it has lived.

How you think a 10 year old Vette with over 50,000 miles on it is better than an R3 Rx-8 with 7,000 miles on the Chassis and less on a built LSX, Motons, etc. etc. is better is beyond me.

 

Not that I know of, 99% of them are never completely finished, let alone to the point of being track ready.

 

Brainwashed implies being coerced into believing something you wouldn't otherwise believe.
In my case, I knew about rotaries from RX7s, and nothing about the Renesis.
I bought mine mainly because it's looks first caught my eye, then when I test drove it, I had to have it.
The handling and high RPM driving hooked me.

I doubt I would have bought it had I known about this forum first, and researched it beforehand.
Mainly because most people usually post only when they have problems, and it would appear very few log on to say everything's great, nothing to report.

That being said, as I learned more about my 8, I grew to love it even more.
The quality of my 8 for what I paid for it was also a huge factor.
I bought it with a little over 18k, & now
just flipped 42k pretty much problem free except for the cat going bad shortly after I bought it.

The people who are brainwashed are those with preconceived opinions and no information on the unique requirements of owning one, and regard their automobile as a vehicle to get from point A to point B with as little input as possible, and with no regard to the actual driving experience.
I could hardly be any happier with it.

 

Bc the Vette has a torture tested stock motor that can withstand hundreds of hours at redline and in a chassis eons ahead of the RX8 platform. Even one with a built motor. You have made some dumb comments before but damn dude......

 

Who cares? Depends on the track. All things being equal an LS swapped RX8 would easily take down a roturdy RX8. Yes we are all aware the RX8 has great balance. We get that. But the delivery from the V8 and the slight sacrifice on balance and weight will eat the turds *** every time. Unless maybe it was a race in a parking lot where the LS can't really make use of the motor. my car is noticably heavier up front and has spoiled the balance a bit and maybe a psycho RX8 owner will notice (remind us of a few people in here?) but who cares? My car was built as a daily driver and frankly I wouldn't be able to tell if it had an iron block up front bc I'm not out using the car on road courses anywhere. I just set out to build a reliable, daily drivable cool car. That being said it's the ultimate sleeper bc of the horrible reputation given by the roturdy guys. I love that though. Just makes the surprise attack that much better.

 

LS, cease using words in your posts that are intended as a derogatory insult, regardless of what it is directed at. If you can't get your message across without using them, don't post.

What's considered derogatory? From how you guys put it, anyone who has a piston is hostile and being derogatory. i didnt start all the personal attacks. the butthurt stock car guys (lurking in the swap section for some reason) were the ones making it personal. i feel like i responded accordingly and despite overwhelming disgreement (from the stock motor guys once again) i havent said anything far from what those guys said. this is the SWAP section. i originally thought this was the section for guys who like the RX8 but sick of the wimpy rotor. i was wrong i guess. this is just the section for the Renesis die hards to come show us how "smart" it is to keep the stock motor and forcefeed failure down its bottleneck throtle body.
