Lol I don't think density really takes reliability and drivability into consideration. you cant say with an objective view that a 500 hp rotor will have better drive ability and be as reliable as a 500 hp ls motor? And whether you like to believe it or not, the rotor along with all the turbo piping and oil cooler crap weighs as much or more than an LS. The V8 is simpler, stronger per lb (you would call that density), and has more potential to make reliable, streetable hp.
With improper care anyone can break any engine. Reliability is an old argument and we know the crux of it is the driver's fault.
Stronger per pound would be power/weight ratio, density is specifically referring to the replacement for volume. Math suggests that by increasing the density of the air you put into your engine you can increase power just as you could with more volume.

Valid point but I'm looking at it logically. Only ricers consider power per any unit volume. Who cares about specific output when it is installed in a similar weight car.
And no that's like comparing apples to gold plated oranges. I looked up the side housings. Just one is like $1600! What does an aluminum 20B cost? It would sure suck to have a near $10k motor die in 10k miles but that's what roturdies do.

Lets see the numbers man. Youre basing your statement on internet trash. I cant imagine ill get an honest number from ya. You have a 28k post sterling reputation to.uphold. youre not gonna let a V8 swap be lighter than your turdbo

Wait wait wait...
WE don't understand that?
The rotary is always new technology. It's only on it's 8th or 9th iteration since the concept was proven. At a comparable point in the piston engine's lifespan, it was getting a whole 300hp out of 28.5 LITERS (http://www.topgear.com/uk/car-news/f...rin-2014-12-02). With a reliability measured in hundreds of miles.
The rotary is advancing far faster than the piston engine ever did, it just started at a different point and has far fewer people working on it. Every rotary is immediately new technology, and every rotary thus has some bugs.
So thanks for making our case for us?

I see so I guess when rotaries become more mainstream I'll believe it. But while they litter the scrapyards and Craigslist my point is made. And evolving? Lol that's hilarious. They can't even be made to pass the emissions requirements that piston motor (very high hp ones might I add) pass just fine.

Actually they can pass emissions. In fact, they haven't sold any that haven't passed emissions. And they already said that the next iteration can pass the EU's much harder emissions too.
If littering the scrap yards is your argument, though, I'll wager that there are more piston engines in scrap yards than rotaries... A hell of a lot more.

Just went down and weighed my turbo renesis rx8 .
JDM model 6 speed with cloth seats ..... full tank of gas ,no weight reduction other than no cat and lighter front brakes
All up : 2963lbs
So ............. 157lbs (71kg in my lingo) lighter

a ls1 camaro/trans am wll get 30mpg highway with 400hp while were lucky to get 20 with 180hp... Yes, that changes dramatically when your WOT, but so does any car, especially boosted cars

No worries. I didn't expect much. I'm coming to y'all's house with real numbers. I have nothing to lose so lying doesn't do me any good. However you guys have your roturd reps to maintain.

Lucky? I never had trouble getting more than 20, usually 22-23. I even got 27 3 tanks in a row, although that was rather boring.
If you can't get 20mpg highway in an 8, you are doing something wrong, either your driving or your hardware maintenance.

Actually out of all of the claims you have made... dozens of them... the weight was the first one you actually showed up with some proof on. The rest is just hot air until proven otherwise. You would hold us to the same standard that you fail to maintain yourself.

What is required to show that I'm driving my car everyday in Austin traffic. 50 mile round trips to school. Sometimes twice a day. Not sure how to prove that. My only goals when I started this swap was to build a better car. I feel I've done that and happy with my work. Best part is another roturd is off the road.
