Ok this is getting outta hand can i vote for a do over?

I'm sorry but I tend to get carried away

truth the Renny is good, it makes enough power to move the car around and pass no problem i did a 0-100 on the 403(highway) at 4am after leaving the bar i was bouncing at she's quick, she zipped right up to 9.5krpm and i got it to drift nicely once

and easy easy to rebuild,,,, and what i should have done is just rebuilt it so far right at this point tonight i have spent as much as a full rebuild kit would have cost and it would have been on the road a couple days after the parts arrived,,,(provided there was no gouging)
but the price of the rebuild ticked me off and i bought a different motor i when for the second cheapest piston motor i could get my hands on that day it was between an RB20det or a 1jzgte so i google'd it and found no info on either but i found lots of videos on youtube of the 1 jz so thats what i got,, i've swaped 2 motors and re built and turbo'ed a third and figured i'd be able to get this thing on the road for cheap and have things break as i got and replace with stronger components,,,

that was the path i decided to tackle i still have the Ren and the Hail Mary is to sell the Jz and rebuild the renny in my shed

yea you could say iv'e been a dick but you guys dedicated a tread to swap bashing so i started rotory bashing

In not trying to build a power house just a reliable 300ftlbs so i can slide like in my 240sx

i am learning as i go as always that's the process

Why would you want to run it at 73degrees?

You do know that Gasoline engine are inefficient when they run that cold?

And that in a high load scenario you want a cooling system that can dump heat more rapidly..not a colder engine that has the same cooling system?

**** that. I don't share that sentiment. I wouldn't take a 4 rotor over the LS. I say I considered rebuilding the rotor but that was only for a few minutes. After a Google search told me $1500 was what it was gonna take for a box of seals and o rings. I would rather go through the trouble of building a badass one off car than putt around in a high revving slowpoke.

The problems with the renesis had to be ironed out. It's only been out since 04...

Granted mines an S2, but I have 70k on mine and not a single Engine related issue. I am probably even overdue for plugs and coils. I understand why the renesis gets some hate, and I am no die hard for it, but its not bad as everyone makes it out to be. For making around 180 hp/L, its a pretty good motor.

Who cares about specific output when the car weighs 3200ish lbs. hp per lb is what matters.

Nah that's old news. GM knew the rotor wasn't worth the time or money to polish that turd. Good thing they didn't. Then the car would have gone downhill like the RX platform.

What's the obsession with hp?
If you're going to the drag strip, great.
If you want to smoke everyone at a red light, great.
Everyday driving, not so much.
I have a 20 mile commute, mostly open highway, and nobody passes me unless traffic backs up and I get stuck in the wrong lane.
That's where the fun is, not standing around bragging "Mines bigger than yours."

The main reason the RX8 platform went "downhill" is because they were such an inefficient design pertaining to emissions.
They were banned in Europe because they couldn't get the emissions clean enough to meet their standards.
Mazda no longer saw the sense in producing them with such a large market unavailable to them anymore.

The emissions regulations killed the RX platform, not because it was a "turd".

you guys are so far out form the modding world it's unbelievable,,,,

let me try to explain it to you this way

have you heard the term built not bought??

If you pay someone to build your car for you,,, your a vagina,,, simple men build their own cars,,,,

bribing inspectors and going around smog and safety,,,, YOUR AMERICAN YOU GUNNA LET YOUR GOVERNMENT TAKE AWAY YOUR GUNS IF THAT MADE IT LAW!?!?!? seriously law passed they say no more guns your going to hand them over?

so my mentality is fck that it is my vehicle and mine to do with as i wish,, it is illegal to put a a motor older than the model year of the vehicle where I am how with they know you ask? they don't we do it all the time

many of us here mod our own cars and dont pay others to work on them. my dad was an ase tech with his own shop, my step mom is an ase tech, as is my brother who owns his own shop. ive been working on cars since i was about 5 yo and yes i know whats involved for an inspection in the us anyway (i dont give two ***** about canada)

btw since you brought up guns i build my own and nobody is taking them from me

I only mention hp when someone pipes up about how much hp it makes for the size. If something as simple as emmissions killed off the rotary im pretty sure that kills any chance of it being a good motor. After all if technology for a platform can't evolve to meet a simple mission requirement then what does that say about it? I guess a two stroke motor can only evolve so much.

ls you still cant seem to grasp the point we are trying to get across. i dont care what you put in your car if its actually done right which nobody has to date. on your cheap *** budget you will not be the one to actually "finish" a swap.

years ago there was some inbred tard that made a 383 stroker run in an rx and it was the biggest clusterfuck ive ever seen but he did the work himself and it was very cheap. i feel yours is gonna be similar if and when it actually runs

oh yhea btw that abortion swap im talking about was 500hp/500tq

So when you are finished with yours, you'll have no problems passing emissions inspection, right?

The Renesis could not meet the Euro5 standard, thus the ban.

Correct, the S1 is Euro 3, there are no S2's in this country. as long as the engine being installed is equivalent or greater than Euro 3,it will pass emissions. I did wish to install a 13b rew, I'm not a tree hugger but would prefer to do it legally.

Can we all see what great projects you have under your belt besides being a professional 9K nutswinger? You're welcome to check out my thread. Rounding third base on the harness now. Only reason my swap is "cheap" is all the hustling I'm doing to get parts cheap/free. If I bought everything then the number would be much bigger. Wha the hell is an abortion swap? And to answer your question about emmissions, I live in a very strict county in texas which does emmissions. Since my motor has a stock cam and cats, I know it will pass no problem. Hell it would do better than your two stroke RX8 that can barely do half the speed of your handle. I bet with all the smoke you blow, you couldn't pass. Won't be any bribes or BJs around here unless your mother gets pulled over.

You're right I guess I have no idea what you are trying to explain (sarcasm by the way). It sounds like you guys have the best position. You just sit back on your gay little rotard and wait for someone to prove you wrong. I'm not in it to prove anyone wrong. It can be done pretty easily. RX8s are owned mostly by kids and old men. Not a great demographic when looking for a engine swap candidate. I only bought this car bc I wanted another FD but wasn't gonna pay the stupid tax to get my hands on one. If the rotor is enough for you, then I'm very sorry to hear that. Some people arent lucky enough to experience the greater things in life. Like....... Torque and reliability.
