I bought a 2005 rx8 about a year ago and the transmission blew as it was pretty old, I got a new transmission not really paying attention to the fact there were two different types of automatic transmissions the 4 and 6 speed. I got a 6 speed. Is it possible to put the 6speed in my car? Will I need extra things? Can someone help me figure it out?

 

For the automatic you'll need to replace with the correct transmission. Keep in mind, the 4 speed automatic is fitted to the 4 port engine and the 6 speed auto is fitted to the 6 port engine. It's not going to work using a different auto transmission than what was in the car originally without heavy modification.
