Steering wheel, Auto on a Manual

Hi,

I have searched and searched but i cant find the answer. I am currently restoring an RX8 to its former glory so doing all the 'bits' that need doing. Removing the rust, de flooding, headlight replacement etc....
So i have a worn steering wheel and i want to replace it. I have a 6-speed manual and i have a managed to source an auto steering wheel in perfect shape. So my question is can i remove the buttons on the wheel and would this leave holes?

Thanks and loving this RX8. Unsure why i never bought one before!

Likely way easier to just buy a used MT one.... I'm not 100% sure if the wiring connectors are going to be the same....

If you are just talking about the ring, then yeah they should swap right over.

I bought an Autoexe one to replace the factory wheel. They don't make any distinction between auto or manual for their steering wheel, so the paddle shifters shouldn't be a factor.

Worst case swap all the plastic and guts from your wheel onto the new wheel's frame.
