My 04 recently started losing power at highway speed. Took it to surface roads where the problem became continually worse. CEL flashing, smoke coming into cabin. Won't start at all after shutting down. Towed it home and all I get for OBD codes are P0302 (cyl 2 misfiring) and 0322 (crankshaft position sensor). I have been told the CAT is toast. Has it taken out every thing upstream?

Read those links. I'm not sure about the smoke. You definitely have misfires and it is very possible the CAT is toast. Yes it can ruin stuff upstream, such as your engine. Quit driving it before you make it much worse than it already is.

Give us more info about your car (mileage, mods, etc.)...and when is the last time you did a tune-up (replace coils, plugs, and wires)...
