Hi. I want to know what coil pack and spark plug and wires would be the best brand and type for a high performance on my 8. I would like to know what you guys would use. Thanks for the heads up in advance.!!

 

If you want to avoid future headaches go with the BHR coil kit which includes all of the above. As far as spark plugs there is really only type, the same NGKs Mazda put in at the factory.

But there isn't really a performance benefit, more like longevity and peace of mind.

 

Where do i get them. ?? What about napol coil pack and ngk high performance wires and sparks ?? From ebay.

As far as coils go, BHR is generally regarded as second to none. They might be a little pricey, but they will probably last you the remaining time you own the car, and Charles' service is absolutely top notch , especially in the customer support areas. Trust me , if this is a car you plan on keeping for an extended amount of time, its worth it to go with BHR

In the end it's almost like the horrible religious war over what kind of oil to use.
So you're going to have to decided on your own.
Considerations:

What are you willing to spend?
How handy are you with a wrench?
Even how long are you going to own the car?
What are your goals for the car? Example Stock vs Forced induction
And how comfortable are you installing non-OEM parts?

IMO all three are viable solutions with their pro's and con's.

The BHR kit is a proven favorite with a lot of people.
I have one that I used for almost 2 years and about 20k miles with no issues at all.

The SakeBomb kit has been a recent offering and is being used by fewer people, although the IGN-1A coils have been used on RX7s and rotaries for years.
It's more expensive, larger, and a bit more involved installation with a large wiring harness and a bracket that utilizes the AC compressor bolts for mounting.
Most people think it's overkill for a stock N.A. application.

I recently installed it on mine which is a stock N.A. '04.
I'm probably in a small minority of owners who had the BHR kit and now have this one.

I had absolutely no problems with the BHR kit.
I simply wanted to try the S.B. kit.
It gave me a reason to do some wrenching on my 8, and I like working on my car.

 

The LS coils are not meant to recharge effectively at 18,000 RPM equivalent. The IGN-1A's are. They were designed specifically for 2 stroke motors (which is the same duty cycle as rotary ignition events). The LS coils simply can not recharge fast enough to effectively generate a substantial spark at higher RPM's. We've got piles of LS coils here and have tried many times. The LS are 10a max coils vs 25a for the IGN-1A's at max dwell times (but the LS coils can't even operate effectively at those equivalent RPM's so their power potential is a moot point). The IGN-1A's aren't necessarily overkill. You can see a lot of benefit in the entire RPM range because they simply produce more spark for longer durations.

But my biggest gripe, even beyond using the LS coils themselves is the 20ga stock wiring in the car, it's insufficient for high performance coils, which is why our setup runs a dedicated replacement harness which grabs power and ground direct from the battery, not the hair-thin stock power wiring. We only use the stock wiring for signal, which is really all I consider it good for (no offense Mazda).

Fwiw, I meant 'most people' in the sense that of the discussions I had prior to my purchase of the SB kit, (which were many), most of the people who weighed in were of the opinion that it was 'overkill' for a stock Renesis.
I don't share that opinion.
