Taking 8 out of storage. Just installed bhr coils, sputtering

A the title says, I am taking my 8 out of storage but before I do I went ahead and installed the bhr coil kit. When I finished I reinstalled the battery and started the car. It's been running for about a half hour now and seems to be running a little rough and it's sputtering from the exhaust while the rpms hover between 8 & 900 the whole time. Could this just be from the 4 month old gas or something I overlooked in the installation?

Pretty sure disconnecting the battery resets the fuel trims, so it's gotta relearn those. Idle going between 800 and 900 RPMs is pretty normal.

Yes, the fuel trims are reset by unplugging the battery. You need to go through at least 1-3 drive cycles (fully warm, cool down, repeat) for the trims to relearn themselves

As previously stated, fuel trims were likely reset. if it does not resolve on its own or you experience a flashing Check Engine light, you should start with checking your ground wires , as well as making sure the spark plug boots are fully connected at both ends. This may sound obvious, but you would be far from the first to fall victim to a poorly seated boot. i dont know the status of your plugs, but it may be worth replacing these as well, just as a precaution. Also, for future reference you should avoid storing your 8 with an abundance of old gas in it, as it is my understanding that this can contribute to carbon buildup. (im sure somebody can correct me if im wrong on this, but for some reason it is sticking in my mind)

TLDR: could fix itself if its fuel trims, otherwise double check your work, replace your replaceable ignition parts , and report back

I put stabil in it before I stored it. This is the first time I've ever had a car worthy of storing so figured I'd ask about the fuel. I plan on getting plugs prolly next week and will definitely double check both ends of the plug wires and the grounds. Thanks for everyones input.

I had to store my car for two years. Once I found where the car was going to be stored I called my mechanic. He came to the storage garage and drained the oil, gas, and disconnected the battery.

Yes new plugs and wires should have been installed with that BHR coil kit. If the learned fuel trim doesnt fix your problem, change those plugs and wires and be sure all are seated well, as others have suggested.
