Rx-8 Strange sound at 5k+ rpm and loss of power

Hello i have a 2006 rx8 with about 98,000 miles. I have been experiencing a very strange sounds that sounds like gargling accompanied with power loss at 5k+ rpm when gunning it. I have recently changed my spark plugs and checked the coils(Still looked good). I have also just recently replaced the fuel pump. I am also running a straight pipe right now because i thought my cat might be failing. Also replaced my SSV a few months ago as well with the new improved part, I had a buddy rev the engine while i was checking the SSV and it was opening after replacement. After doing all these things i am still experiencing this sound. Any thoughts? Possibly blown engine? it starts up fine and has good low rpm power. Here's a link to the video of the sound when i hit 5-6k rpm.

How old are the coils? I'm fairly new here also but from what I've read plugs, wires & coils should all be changed at the same time

Coils and wires would be my first suggestion.

The current coils/wires have about 10k on them. There are not any white spots like there were the first time i changed them out which lead me to believe that they are still good although i could be wrong about that. Could the coils and/or wires really be failing so quickly?

Hm..
After 10K, they should still be fine.

If it were me, I would be thinking about tossing a can of fuel injector cleaner in with a fresh tank of gas. I am kind of guessing here, but sometimes it is simple things.

if plugs, wires and coils are new then i would look at the cat, midpipe, and exhaust tip. Im currently looking to get the cat get looked at. Im experiencing similar problems except mine makes this bird like noise in the low rpms with engine loss power in lower gears when hot. Im driving at 07. It starts fine and when an idle can rev at 9k easily. I sweat my car has a mind of its own. I hope its something less

Good news! Ok so i threw in a bottle of techron fuel system cleaner and after driving around for about 30 miles I noticed the sound is no longer present and the power is now there. Thanks for the recommendation 04Green.
