Rear main seal leaking

I’m replacing the transmission in my 07 manual and there was engine oil in the bellhousing. I bought a rear main seal and I’m looking for a how to, to replace the seal with the engine still in the car. I really on another post it can fall out if timing if i mess it us. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Wont have to pull engine to do this. You only have to drop the trans and pull the flywheel. Once the flywheel is out the rear main pops right out and the new one pops right back in. Just be prepared to shout, scream and swear getting the damn flywheel off...

These are all things I assumed already lol. Someone said the rotor could fall. Is this untrue. In another post someone said if something fell out if alignment the motor would need to be pulled?

Haven't really heard of any problems like that for this job. Only thing that will be out of alignment is the clutch on reinstallation. The engine is a closed system so I dont see how this will affect anything in the engine. Just need an alignment tool for the clutch and should be good to go.

Edit: Don't over torque the flywheel and make sure engine is supported.

I assumed that too but I wasn’t sure if that end peice was geared and if something else could move and no longer align.

that’s only on the front seal, not the rear seal.
