Premix

Question, Will to much premix cause white smoke?

Problem, when I start it up there is a lot of white smoke. From exhaust

what I did. I replaced everything. Newish engine (Jdm) all new hoses. All new gas lines. I also primed the engine with premix to live the apex seals.

Only had had it running for a few seconds and shut it off.

If you just installed a motor getting some smoke on startup is normal. You need to let it run and warm up and burn off everything in the exhaust.

White smoke tends to be water or coolant and usually oil or rich will be more blue or blackish

It would be totally normal to get some limited white smoke after startup if there is condensation in the exhaust as well

So how much premix did you put in your gas?

For daily driving 1:250 is plenty.

I have also seen someone who had their oil severely overfilled and it was shooting out white smoke like crazy. I think it had 2 quarts more than intended, so check that as well.

I’m not to sure how much I actually used. I put premix directly into the spark plug hole. I did not want to crank a dry engine. So I would say a lot.

Uh... Is this a remanufactured engine? If so, it will have assembly lube in it so it's not needed.

If you dumped all this oil in the spark plug holes then yes it's going to smoke until it all burns out. Just let the car idle until it's warmed up and make sure everything is good over the car and then see how the smoke is.

Are you saying it smoked when you turned on this engine the first time, or it does this every time you turn it on?
If first time, yes burning off oil you poured into the engine will create smoke. You add a bit, you don't just pour oil in the spark plugs.

If it does this every time, does the smoke smell sweet and does the coolant level go down? What confirmation do you have that this jdm engine is healthy?

Also you're missing the plastic undertray, you're going to want to get that back on there real quick, not having it causes all kinds of cooling issues.

Thank you all this is amazing feedback.

Jdm is a crap shoot (hopefully I got lucky). I have not had it running but for 30 secs. Once I saw smoke I shut it down. I will put the front bumper and under tray on when ever it stops raining.. 😂😂😭
