premix cause white smoke

got a new engine 750 miles ago, ive been premixing. sometimes at start up a little bit of white smoke comes out for about 2 mins but its not thick, is this normal for first start of the day its 60 degrees out, or does the premix cause that? hoping its not a manifold leak or coolant issue like what ive searched. thanks for the help in advance

Yeah some premix will cause that. Plus it will take a while for the assembly lube to burn out of your engine so that could be it as well. Both of my previous motors did it.

normal.
but if you pour in TOO much pre-mix it'll be even more smoke.

how many ounces are you using per tank?

750 miles is a lot to blame it on the assembly lube. What kind of premix? Most are smokeless and even if it is not, the small amount of premix should not cause smoke.

My mazda reman always smoked, never did like that motor.

4oz per fill. Mind you the smoking was on a cold start and accelerated by the air pump

I dont have my air pump either and im catless. I premix with roughly 5.5 oz of Idemitsu and im always smoking, even when warm. It smokes more when cold but it still smokes if im warm, just less.

And im on a Reman from 3k miles ago

mine only smokes at startup, which is normal

after its warm up I never see smoke. and I premix 8 oz to full tank (mostly, sometimes 4, if I have that "cheap" mood with me that day)

My interior is always filled with smoke... I don't think it has anything to do with my pre mixing though.

Is it smoke or steam? They are both completely different, do you have a cat?

if your premixing does that eliminate the need for using fuel injector cleaner every so often or can you use something like techron at the same time you premix?

IMO fuel injector cleaner is snake oil. I never used the stuff my injectors were mostly in the fair operating zone at 120k miles.

I'm using 4 oz per fill, and start it in an enclosed parking structure every day. No smoke, hot or cold, and I wouldn't expect 4 oz in 16 gallons to cause any descernable smoke. I see some water vapor at idle during certain winter weather, but most cars do that.

Interesting, maybe its just the weather? I will have to wait until the warmer summer days to check. When I say smoke I mean a very thin white steamy type smoke, and this is in my garage which is showing roughly 65ish degrees.

Sounds like water vapor, a normal byproduct of gasoline combustion.
