P0140 Secondary Air Injection CODE help meeeeee
Ughh so I need to fix this ASAP so I could pass emissions and be on my way to California for a few months with my 8...
I have a 2004 mazda rx8 with 76000 miles.
She runs normally besides the check engine light and code P0410. I have read multiple forums and this is where I am at.
I have the P0410 code, I checked the vacuum solenoid, air pump, and control valve and they are all working properly. Went to the stealership who wanted 600 dollars to clean out the manifold which may not even be the problem and which is something I know I could do but it is going to be a bitch, but I have been reading through a lot of posts and noticed it obviously is clogged somewhere. My question is to you: What should I try next? Should I check the Cat? Should I use sea foam? What should I do first!? Please help meeeeeeee. I do not want to lose my Roxy!

It's not something you can just look at and tell if it's good or not. Check the connections if they are dirty perhaps the ECU can't get a read. It does get a lot of carbon buildup in the system when I pulled mine off it was really crusty but these things do have a tendency to go bad. Befor you got the CEL did you notice a high piched whine when it was cold out at a cold start? If yes it's possible the bearings in the motor are bad and froze the motor.
I removed mine when I was installing a turbo, but changed my mind on the Turbo and left this off as it was in very very bad shape. Is there a way to bypass so that this code doesn't come up ?
