N00b question about e-shaft seal
Hi everyone!
Very new to the world rotary engines, BUT I'm putting one into an MX5 Mk1.
Anyway - I did a mock test fit of the engine earlier. The engine still has all the oil in and I didn't bother draining it.
Once I tipped it past about 25 degrees (got one of those engine levellers), it started pouring oil out of the e-shaft seal area, like quite a bit. At the moment there's no flywheel on the engine and 54mm nut is loose, keyway is just sitting in situ.
Is this normal or do I have a really busted seal? I'm used to being able to take a flywheel off and not be scared of oil pi$$ing everywhere!
All help appreciated
