Increasing horsepower?

Increasing horsepower?
I'm driving a 2006 RX8 Shinka A/T, I just bought the car in the last month and I've decided I want to turn it into a beast. Both the car and engine are at 63,000 miles and in near perfect condition. Everything about this car is stock, 212 horsepower engine etc etc.
I want to look into getting my car into the 350-375 300 bhp range <-- TOTALLY FORGOT TO SAY BHP! MY BAD!!
I'm also totally split on supercharger vs turbocharger. I like the turbo because the lag time will allow me to drive around quietly, which I prefer over my engine roaring at 2 AM. On the other hand, according to the charts the supercharger brings more power to the table.
On a last note, I might also want to use nitrous after I get it to where I want it. While I think that might be a little overkill, I love having a nitrous button in my cars and I've had great results in the past.

According to what chart does SC give more power than TC on an RX8?
Nitrious Oxide won't get you close to 300whp and in an Auto I bet you'll barely break 200whp.
Start with a base dyno and as mentioned trade your AT for a MT and open the taps to your wallet.
The MT's are having a hard enough time trying to get past 300whp

Man, did you just get done watching a fast and furious movie or something? You've bought the wrong car if you think you're going to make gobs of power. You could pour 5 grand into it and still be slower than a stock 2.0T Hyundai Sonata!
I'd sell that thing for what you paid and buy a 6speed and some good tires and then learn to drive it, or if you just want a drag racer just go buy a v8 mustang and be done with it!

Get rid of the AT? He just learned how to use that...see his other post.
Nick - on a more serious note, browse through the major horsepower forum here to get an idea of what upping the power on one of these rotaries takes.

I was browsing through some threads earlier, including that sticky that wcs linked to so I figure I might have just misread a chart or I'm misinformed or something. Okay so new goal: 250 HP which is definitely more realistic, gonna look into it some more. Haha live and learn I guess right?

If 250whp is the goal, you are going to still need big bucks. Either a very low boost force induction setup (and all of the problems you still need to address there), or still race quality engine build + all supporting mods (complete replacement ECU, complete custom intake and exhaust, anti friction treatments on all transmission and diff gears, etc...). You are talking a 50whp gain over an already perfect quality engine attacked to a 6 speed manual.
If 250 crank horsepower is the goal, then just get a tune, a midpipe, and you should be able to get there without a problem. After all, the stock engine is only 8-12hp off of that.
This is all assuming you take the first step of trading your car for a manual transmission one, since that's worth ~30hp, and is by far the cheapest power increase you will get.

I HATE SPEEDBUMPS!

I want to look into getting my car into the 350-375 horsepower range to match his, and because the only thing that isn't perfect about the RX8 is the horsepower! What are my options for getting it up that high and what kind of a price will I be looking at?

I'm surprised nobody has said it: Buy the LS6 RX-8 in the Frankenstein RX-8 forum.
