Trust me when I say this I'm from Montreal as well and MAZDA'S DO NOT LAST. The recycled metal they used gets eaten by all the salt we put here. Any car over 10 years old rusts. When I got my rx-8 back in 2009, there was no rust under the wheel wells or anything and it had barely 33000 km on it.
Sold it in summer of 2014 and my god, everything was rusting underneath the car. The rockers in the back of the wheel well were finished, you can put ur finger through it. The first year I got the car I put anti-rust, kept in the garage and was very rarely winter driven. IF it was, it was to drive it around, I would then wash the car underneath and thats it.
Juste pour vous dire, c'est impossible d'avoir plus de chevaux avec cette moteur rotatif. Un petit conseille, ajoute a kit ignition par BHR, enleve le catalyzer pi change la disque volant de BHR. C'est difficile d'avoir plus de 200hp sur les pneus. Tu peux ajouter un systeme de nos a 55 shot et c'est tout. C'est mieux de changer le moteur qu'ajouter un turbo, ca coute trops cher et ca ne fonctionne pas tres biens. Juste a turbo sans d'installation coute $4000. Installation est un autre $1000. Aussi il dit que malheureusment, il y a trops de rouille en sous votre char specifiquement sur le charpente? Le truc qui tiens le carosserie en metal.

I'm very disappointed with the amount of rust on my 2005.
Has barely seen snow, always washed, stored in a heated garage.

Don't ever think about 300+ whp on a renesis engine, even a radical cases porting won't give you those numbers, turbo'ng this engine is either useless or simply not worth it. If you want more power you need to swap a REW in, best swap overall IMO, you could always go with a 20b but unless you're aiming for huge numbers ain't worth all the money it would cost. My rx-8 : REW/HX40/Adaptronic ECU ''went greedy piggyback first but wasn't happy with it, dyno'd @ 400whp on pump gas and i'm really happy with it, could go higher with different turbo but i like the whp/reliability mix, if 300-350 whp and + is your goal you have to swap, don't forget engine management cost, driveshaft/gears/axles will need upgrades near 400whp also. Mine got 5spd FD tranny/FD gears/HD axles. I'm working a lot lately but when work slows down i don't mind meeting with ya and give u a ride and show u the setup, that way you might have an idea if you really wanna go that route or not.

Don't get me wrong here i don't dislike american ppl, I lived 5yrs in NY a few years ago and still got friends down there, but lots of folks in the u.s still have the ''Canadian/Quebec ppl still ride horses and wake up @ 5 in the morning to go fu**ing beaver hunting and drink maple syrup for dinner'' idea.Maybe it's what u learnt @ school or your parents told you that dumb sh*t but for your own intelligence you might want to educate yourself.
