Hot Air Pump on Start up

Hi Guys and Girls,

I have been looking through some feeds but I cant quite find what I am looking for and wondering if anyone can help.

I have just purchased a beautiful RX-8 04 model with FSH and it is in really good condition. When I turned it on this morning the car automatically kept up its REVS to about 2.5k-3k for about 20-30 seconds. I have a feeling this may be something to do with a hot air pump and the catalytic converter warming up? it was cold this morning? is this normal or is it a sign of something that I may need to do?

Thank you

Normal.
As long the Hot air pump sounded ok, no bearing squeal or grinding noise.
