Engine rotor mixup

So i have a hypothetical question. What would be the results of mixing up (installing front rotor in rear position and rear rotor in front position) the rotors on a 13B motor. The reason I ask is that I recently acquired a used motor from a buyer that said he had it rebuilt but would not start for him. I tore the motor apart and found that the front rotor was installed in the rear of the engine and the rear rotor installed in the front. Silly question I know but would this cause a no start issue?

The only difference between the front and rear rotor is the springs for the oil control rings. This is why when rebuilding you nominate a rotor for front and a rotor for rear. It makes zero difference which one is which, they both are the same prior to assembly.

My question to you is, how do you know the rotors were reversed? Did you notice the springs were in the wrong position or had spun? I'm not 100% sure but I doubt this would cause the engine to not start.

Have a look at pages 1-10-30 through 1-10-32 , it is explained in detail

Well I've learned that the front rotor has a chamfer on the left side of the rotor with the gear side up and the rear rotor has a chamfer on the right side with the gear up.

FRONT ROTOR
REAR ROTOR
Note that the front rotor has a chamfer on the left side of the rotor. Rear rotor has a chamfer on the right side

Your right, I forgot about that!

I doubt it would keep the engine from running if they were reversed.

Just adding to this old thread incase people search for it. I'm 99.9% sure those pictures are wrong from Mazdatrix. Should be the other way around.
