Bad input shaft bearing symptoms

What are some symptoms indicative of a bad counterweight/ input shaft bearing. I have checked my pilot, release, clutch assembly. I have a crazy load mouse wheel squeal driving me crazy!

Thanks in advance

Some of my symptoms are: loud mouse wheel sound when I hit bumps then continues as I drive. Will keep doing it at a stop, however, it will stop when I push the clutch in. As soon as I start going it starts up again. Does it in every gear. Is loud enough for you to hear if I drive by... from 50 yards away! Complete new clutch kit just put in (I thought this was the fix!) dooooh!

Release bearing is failing. Rapidly.

Be very careful. Get it changed. When it fails, it is a tow home . Ask me, I know.

Release bearing = throwout bearing?

I disagree that its a tow home if you can revmatch well

Release bearing and throw out bearing are the same.

And, it depends on the nature of the failure.. I got a 6 major and many minor pieces from the bell housing. Horrendous noise with clutch out as parts ground each other to pieces. Even if I jumped the clutch switch to start it, it made a huge racket just going down the road. I drove to the first safe spot and towed it before I damaged my ears. There was a melted blob of plastic, that apparently ran out of the hearing housing, in the bottom of the bell housing.

Does it do it at a stop in Neutral?

Usually release bearing issues happen when you put your foot ON the clutch...as this is when the bearing is active..same with the pilot bearing. They both only work when clutch is disconnected.

If the release bearing is so screwed that it is always rubbing then you can get noises when it isn't engaged...but not as common as the other failure when your foot is on the clutch

Does the noise increase with RPM...or stay the same?

Put in a new oem clutch kit last Monday. Hoped this was the fix, however the old parts weren't in bad shape. new pilot, release bearing and clutch.
Obviously tranny fluid was changed.
Here what happens: Start the car and at idle all is good. Drive about half a mile and it starts making noise. When I hit bumps it is more defined (sounds like a mouse wheel on its last leg) When I increase rpm it gets louder, but it will even out and get quite when I level the rpm out and hold it steady. I can make it go away when I press in the cluthch, but the noise will still happen when I hit a bump with the clutch pushed in.
I've come to the conclusion that the noise happens with load on the tranny. (hitting a bump simulate slight load) My guess.
This is why I'm thinking counterweight aka input shaft bearing.
However, I'm guessing!

I've also noticed a slight grab in my gears during shifting. 1 through 6 + R.
In case anyone is wondering, the first thing I did was check for loose exhaust and or any other loose parts. All is was good + I had to remove most of the underside to replace the clutch.

Sorry, I almost forgot! I did notice play in the input shaft when replacing clutch, but wasn't sure if that was normal. Should there be any play on the input shaft or not? If so how much? Another reason I was thinking input bearing.....
Thanks to everyone in advance!

check clutch pedal height. Follow the adjustment procedure.

I think your release bearing is hosed, in wrong. or failed. Like not locked into the forks. It bounces up against the pressure plate. First, make sure you have enough freeplay.

gotta run, budget people just called on me.

I'm interested in some answers about the input shaft too. I did a clutch change and noticed play in the shaft pilot bearing was gone as in no longer in existence through out was ok **** tune of clutch pad material in bell housing. Now I have a worling noise when clutch pedal is up but press it and the noise gose away like no noise at all. So this makes me think my input shaft bearing is shot as the pilot and through out seen to be silent when in use. I also have some problems getting it to take gears some times. Fluid was changed with clutch no metal shavings or flaks good and clean.

Edit
Sorry about all the miss spelling my iPhone seems to think it knows what I'm spelling more than I do.

Gotta love autowreck ; (

There is a lot of rollover noise in the transmissions...so the whirring is normal
