The air pump for my 8 just stopped running, what should I do to make it run again.

 

check fuse.
its for emission only, no problem with it not running anyways.

 

Replace it or rebuild it. Search.

 

The air pump only operates during start up when engine is cold. If it is not a fuse like jasonrxeight suggested, it is probably an issue with the bearings. Here is a DIY on rebuilding the air pump: https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-do-...arings-245094/

Unfortunately buying a new air pump is pretty expensive. A lot of people either ignore the CEL or delete the air pump (you can just unplug the air pump). In case you have a CAT don't wait for your car to warm up while idling. Without an air pump your car will run richer during cold start ups and would decrease the life of your CAT. Just wait a few seconds for your rpms to drop and then warm up the car while driving.

 

The pump runs on a by-pass and the fuse is OK. I will have to check the relay.
