I have a 2009 rx8 r3 with 45k miles. I just had the clutch and flywheel replaced. I was driving home and now 5th and 6th gears are gone. Does anyone have an idea what may be? I am hoping don't need a new trans.

 

What does "gone" mean?

Won't go into gear? Grinds?

 

it goes into 5th and 6th gear but it's like being in neutral, there is no acceleration in those gears.

 

Would be surprised if it just decided to stop working after a clutch replacement. I would take it to the install location and let them diagnose.

All this is assuming that nothing happened when you were driving that would have caused it 😏
