2007 Auto RX-8 won't rev past 7500

Hi guys, A new user here I just bought an auto 2007 RX-8 recently and noticed it won't rev past 7500 rpm. It goes up to 7.5k and gives the beep tone but doesn't go further. Just wanted to know if it is a normal thing for that car.

Yes, its an auto gearbox. All automatic rx8s have their stock redline at 7500.

Thanks. So there's no way it can rev past 7.5? I've seen that 6 speed manuals have rpm limit of 8500 in specs but I've seen people rev up to 9000. How is that?

Six speed manuals are rev limited rev to 9000 which is around 9500 on the gauge (gauge isn't accurate).
The autos are rev limited to 7500. This is to protect the transmission. If you want to risk it ...you could get tuning software and take it higher but I wouldn't go over 8000 . I'm pretty sure I tried that once and the auto wouldn't change properly.
