i was debating what to do as i have been rolling on summer tires with minimal tread depth, but after spending much of my time driving on sunday sideways, i decided to order tires.

i cant afford a dedicated winter tire right now, so i ordered the Continental Extreme Grip DWS (dry, wet and snow) ultra-high performance all seasons. They get put on tonight. Cant wait.

i forgot you had the autobahn front. did you give any thought to removing it and putting on the OEM for the winter? i had considered doing it until i removed it to put on my AEM and it was such a pain to get back on just right so i'm just running with it as-is.

I did think about removing the autobahn bumper as it does sit considerably lower than stock, but I think the stock bumper would look weird with the MS sides. I was surprised at how much better the car handled in the conditions I drove in with the winter tires. I think the only thing that will get in the way is clearance issues. I might remove everything down the road and just put the aero kit, but I'm really satisfied with this setup.

i definitely like the look of the front but i worry about the clearance issues with any snow. i thought about it looking weird but at this point, i have my stocker wheels on with snow tires so i figure it already looks funny. i have been running blizzaks in the winters since i have owned my 8 and couldn't imagine not having the traction and control it gives.

17s look oddly small with my body kit. stock it wasnt bad, but now... hmmm. makes me rethink my plan of getting my rims in 17x9.

This Friday I'm switching from my old Summer rims/tires to new-to-me Summer rims/tires. Does that count?
