Who's made the switch? (winter tires)
so new englanders, jack frost is nipping and snow starting to fall tonight in CT (and i know others have already seen the white stuff). who has made the switch to their winter tires and who is still trying to hold out? i still have mine wrapped up and don't want to give in. i'm holding off taking out the winter coat and putting on the winter tires to pretend winter isn't really here yet even though it's mid-november.
Dude, I hear ya. I'm buying some tires/rims tomorrow, actually. I want to hold off as long as possible, but my summer tires just spin and slip in the mornings...so I might break down and swap 'em out next weekend (even though I REALLY don't want to!!)

i have the OEM wheels on blizzaks in my garage from last winter. with the temps falling as low as they are it's not the slipping on the snow i'm worried about, it's the hockey pucks i'm sure they'll become if i need to drive while it's still so cold as shinka pointed out.
Still trying to get some more fun drivin' through November before I swap over to my Jeep for the Winter. Cold in the mornings but still near 50 degF afternoons, so .... Snow would of course hasten my turnover.
I'm glad I kept my 2wd s10 for snow, with a set of studded snows the things made it though every winter. The RX is going to sit in the garage on the crappy winter days and only come out when the roads are clear. Its to nice of a car to take out in the sand and crap and destroy. Although it would probably be a fun car to beat around with in the snow.
I still have the summer rims/tires on and refuse to switch till my car is fixed haha.. the rim has to be marked as a lost and I dont feel like hauling the rim in the car just so they can show the adjuster. But 30degree weather is quite interesting though durring spirited driving, car feels safe but just wishes to let go durring those fast corners. But if it dips down to 20degree's then I'm throwing in the towel.
28 Degf when I headed out this morning. But my '8 is garaged, so the tires start out reasonably warm. And although the commute was light, the roads were frost free, so no problems. The dice keep rollin' until month's end.
Winter change
Don't wait till the snow flys. Temperatures are getting too low for summer tires and they won't perform the same as you're used to especially in the rain. Play it safe. Do it now. I did. No worries.

Just got some Eagle F1 All Seasons put on. The stock Dunlops were done, (22k) and I wanted something that has good performance all year round so I can drive it when it's cold and not worry about the temps. I drive my Jeep when it's really bad out but if the roads are clear, I'd prefer the 8. I thought about summer tires again but then I'd be parking the 8 all winter. Can't have that!
Man, by the time someone see this they will be gone, but this is a great price for winter rubber/rims...

put mine on 2 weeks ago...when it starts dipping in the 40s the stocks get so hard they get torn up easily...for those of you still on summer wheels take a really really close look at the rubber...SHRED
I live in Philadelphia and am going to put them on Tuesday, I had to order a wheel luck set because i lost the adapter, oops. I would have like to have put them on earlier. Its been in the high 30;s and raining, its like ice skating out there.
