Official time trial results!

original link here: http://www.emraracing.org/RESULTS/re...rame_setup.htm

Class - ST2

out of 12

8) elysium19 - Mazda RX-8 01:23.640 (Red #19)
9) jfxp - Mazda RX-8 01:27.360 (White #07)
10) refugeefrompistons - Mazda RX-8 01:28.170 (Black #1)
11) Gdawg522 - Mazda RX-8 01:29.350 (Red #8)

Rotr8 (Grey #55) had brake issues before the official TT lap so he was not able to get a time. He was running a 01:28:000 2 sessions before TT run.

Note: These were of the "offical" TT lap only and may or maynot have been the fastest lap of the day for each driver

So as you can see the "fastest mod" you can do to your car is track practice. elysium19 kicked all our asses!!! He has been on a track before and it showed lol.

It was such an AWESOME day at the track. Hope to do it again and see all you guys out there again!

Sweet, I'm glad everyone had a good time....
For what it's worth, there was a guy at that circuit last year with a NA rx8 dipping into the 1:17's So this car is definitely capable of running fast in the right hands...

yup! Though they dont allow suction cups at the track so i rigged a mount to the child seat bracket.

I left the volume on "low" and it came out way too low and muffled, i think that setting is geared for the camera outside the car. High probably would have had lots of wind noise and artifacts, but it would have been something....my bad.

That's odd. TrackDaze usually follows NASA convention, and I distinctly remember two S2000s running with GoPros suction-cupped to the wing fence at Summit Point. I can't recall if there were backup tethers.

'Low' inside out of direct windblast with the white gasket removed worked fairly well for me. 'High' or 'low' didn't seem any different when the camera is fully cased / gasketed.

Looking forward to them with natural background or something not modern thrash rock. I'd like to see another GoPro video not from the company, as the video I get from mine 'gallops' or skips, especially with a new unused SD card.

Yeah there were at least 4 cars I saw with the suction cups, my instructors Evo was one of them, I even asked him about because I remember Andrew posting that earlier, he said hes never been questioned or aske to take them off,
The rules also stated that under any jack stands there must be plywood, didnt see to many people following that rule either, espicially that Miata race car,,,

That one I follow religiously. Think of it as putting a coaster under a dripping glass so you don't scar up the table. People that don't follow it make it that much more expen$ive for the next group in, and may end up getting YOUR group dis-invited.

It's s like that who ruin great opportunities.

You've seen NJMP from both sides of the fence, I'd like to see Thunderbolt from Sylvain Trembley's viewpoint, but clowns like the "Miata guy" will eventually get the amateurs banned from what is pretty much a privately owned track. Sierra Club rules apply in the paddock like they do in the wilderness; leave the place looking like you never set foot in it. Clubs love groups like that, you tend to get invited back on a better weekend.

If anyone's interested in a similar event, I'm going to Lime Rock this saturday august 28th, time trials again. Preregistration ends tomorrow night (tuesday), which saves you $50. www.emraracing.org they have a new online registration system.

Again, the people who run it are a really nice bunch, plenty of highly experienced people, as well as lots of 1st timers. Come along, and feel free to PM me for any further info.

I would..but talking the wife into spending the money again will never happen. SP is SOOOO close to me.....Maybe if I can fix my MR2's steering shake I'll use that pads are much cheaper.

Last time I nearly killed my front brake pads and had to replace them.

another note, never did get my TT license from EMRA. Thought the mailed them out to you.

I'd probably get killed by you MT guys anyway.....the AT in paddle mode works pretty well except when you get to the straight and can't down shift. At SP I would always end up hitting the straight in 3rd and the car just plops....
