Newly Minted: New York Rotary Association

Well hello guys i have put up a few posts about our meets to get you RX-8's to come, but we have still to get ANY RX-8 guys.

The club is now super official...We have been having meets since October 2005 (See our article in RXTUNER magazine "NYC ROTARY MEET", written by yours truly =) )

Im here to extend the club to you guys in New York. Our website is www.nyrotary.com, so please check that out for pics and updates. We all love rotaries and we should be able to hang out.

The next meet is Sunday, August 13th @ Bear Moutain / Harriman Park (thanks for the suggestion Chrism,)

We will be driving up the sunday after rotorfest to scope out the bear mountain spot and harriman spot , this way we can make a decision and also get an idea of where we would want to meet

So please NY/NYC rotary headz give us a holla, the movement is getting bigger from 7 cars at our first meet we have grown to a strong 40 cars per meet and way more people than before (ppl whose cars are in teh shops). We need you RX-8's to represent, we have R100's,RX-2, RX-3's, FB, FC, FD's, we are missing the 8's

So holla at me AIM: NYCRotaryRocket, email NYCRotaryRocket@yahoo.com

Here are a few pictures of our meets on June 4th and July 9th

To all my NJ, CT, MA, PA , RI guys your more than welcome to come to any of our meets with any rotary powered vehicles

Hey Jason.

Thank you for the post for the NYrotatry club! I'm pretty stoked you have put together such a strong club. I really think the multicultural mix is cool too. Oh and please hook me up with a NYrotary club sticker!

Hey Jason,

Not to hijack your thread but to you have an update on the Bear Mountain meet? I was thinking of making the trek over there but it’s a little over 200 miles from where I work and I will have to leave once I get out (7am) of working a 12 hour shift. I will also have to try to get Sunday night off. I didn’t know how many were showing up and the times.

Thanks chris and everyone that responded. Yeah the clubs been around without a name since Oct 2005, the name and the site were just newly minted and were taking off with it now.

Now that people see that we hold meets on a Regular and we actually SHOW Up to the meet, more people are starting to come, our first meet had 7 rotarys our last meet had 44, so i think its growing.

I have asked some 8's to come but for 3 meets they flipped on me. SO i jumped on here to find people that want to come out.

The information of the meet is on our website, www.nyrotary.com,

Its at Bear mountain on August 13ths 2006 at around 12 Nooon. We will be going over there a few of us NYRA guys to scope out some spots and pick the best parking lot. Then we will post directions.

Even though its a NY club all our fellow rotary owners are INVITED.

New Jersey
Pennsylvania
Connecticut
Massachusets
Rhode Island
Vermont

As long as ure willing to take a drive, ure more than welcome to come thru.

Our club is open to anyone in NY that has a rotary powered vehicled, we didnt want to restrict ourselves to just RX-7 , since we gotta give props to R100, RX2,3,4 , cosmo, 8's and rotary conversions like my boys (81 Toyota Corolla, MG TR6, BMW, Rabbit)

Well guys hit me up on AIM "NycRotaryRocket", if ure in NY / NYC and would be interested in joining New York Rotary Association.

THe reason we are holding the bear mountain meet is that all of our old meets have been within NYC and LI, we want to have people from Upstate NY and other adjacent states an oppertunity to come and meet us NY guys, we aint as bad as we sound.

Our meets just require that everyone contribute something to the meet. As long as u do that ure entitled to anything u want. Or u can bring ure own peoples and own supplies, any way is good.

Our stickers are $5 , and $6 shipped. The $1 we make extra keeps the website up and $ for more stickers/food.

So thanks for responding.

See ya at teh Rotorfest Caravan (hope it dont rain)

NAH Theres no forum yet. were debating wheter to put one on or not. If we do put on its going ot be local, nothing like these forums, cuz we like to use rx7/8 club and nopistons.

Hit me up on AIM, NycRotaryRocket
