Mandy, I guess there are far worse things in the world than looking for a pretty woman in a cute car.

I haven't seen a white RX-8, yet. I will honk if I see you in the area.

Just got my '07 stormy blue mica rx8.

I've been over at rx7 club for a while (mod of the megasquirt section, did a lot of work for the rotary engine on the megasquirt).

Just thought I'd post here since I'm in Maryland. (Columbia to be exact).

Yeah, I really lucked out on that car. Brand new '07 with a really good discount in the color I wanted.

I go to the rx7club maryland fudd's meets in Columbia when I can make it. I'm going to try going to the October one, there were usually a few rx8's there when I have gone before.

Not sure I'll be driving the 8 there though, if I can get the remaining problems fixed with my 7 I'll probably drive that.

Ken

The Columbia rx7 meets are generally at the Fudds off of Dobbin.

When do you guys (and girls - Mandy) meet? I live in Owings Mills and play soccer in Columbia so I'm getting a little more familiar with the area and its only 20 minutes away. I've been looking to go out on some meets but havent had the time until now.

Maryland people are THE worst to get out to meets, or so I've noticed with the RX-8 crowd.

I'm guilty of it as well. Not intentionally, I just have a terrible memory and unless I'm reminded, I most likely won't show up.

I live almost across the street from Dobbin road. I'm definitely in for a 7-8 meet at Fuddruckers. Has it happened yet? Someone who works in that shopping center drives a Galaxy Grey 8. I usually see it there when I drive by...

Seems theres quite a few people local to the Howard County area on this board.

I used to live in Owings Mills off of McDonough- but that was last year when I had my Acura.

When the rx7 guys plan the next meet, I'll post info here.

I have not been able to make it to a meet in months, mainly because they keep scheduling them on days when I'm already busy!

Does anyone know of any good performance shops in the area that have done work on 7's or 8's? I'm starting to mod and I want to take the car to a reputable shop. There's a race shop down the street from where I work, and they come highly recommended, but most of what they do relates to race-ready Porsche's. Plus I'm sure they've never worked on a rotary. I might take my car there to have springs installed, but nothing more intense.

Anyone know of a good shop? I'm all ears!

It depends on what you want to have done - if it's minor work like intake, exhaust, wheels, suspension - most performance shops can tackle it if you prefer not to. For a turbo install w/ Interceptor-X and dyno tuning, I took my car to PF Supercars in Frederick. Ray Wilson is da man. They have customers' RX-7's and 8's from VA, MD, NY, PA and NJ routinely in the lot - yeah, they know a thing or two about rotaries...!

dd sends...

Very possible it was me. I don't have any mods- it's the GT package with a spoiler and rotary accents (no appearance package). I live right there...

I've only ever seen 1 VR 8 in the area and it was a while ago.

Yeah, I think it was you, you were turning left from broken land to little patuxent.

I was across the street waiting at the light to cross from the mall side of broken-land to the other side.

I've seen you there a few times around 9-9:30 AM.

Ok, I thought it was me too- but it sounds like we have a rogue 8 in our midst!

Between 9 and 9:30 I'm over on Snowden heading out to RT1 via Oakland Mills where the Best Buy used to be (during the weekdays). On the weekends at that time I'm still in bed.

We should track that guy down. There's only room for one VR GT in Columbia!

Oh, I don't have a front plate but my rear tag says "VELOC8Y" Now you'll know for sure if you see me. What are you driving?

A Stormy-Blue mica Sport.

I'm not sure that other guy was a GT, but I'm pretty sure he had fog lights at least.

Rouge VR GT with fog lights on Snowden in Columbia? hmm. I catch the park-in-ride now and then to go to work in DC. Might be me. look for a silver transformer logo on the rear passenger window.
