Hey everyone, has anybody here had starter issues? I'm trying to determine if that's my problem or if it's ignition. The car takes a second or two to start, it's not down on power and it doesn't matter if it's hot or cold. I just changed the coils within the last 10k miles but they weren't oem so they could be faulty as well i suppose. I've done some searches but can't seem find exactly what I'm experiencing. Thanks for any help!!!

Mine is slow to start also, if you have a series 1 then you can fit the series 2 stater to your transmission, just search for the DIY. I think the starter can be had for under $200
also check your battery voltage, if its sitting under 13 volts it's going to struggle to start the car no matter which starter you have.

Had a great event today, after sliding around a bit i found a ton of speed and beat my archnemesis by 8 tenths :-D
Aaron missed out on first place in DSP by only 4 tenths of a second.
Tom took the whole 'sideways and smiling' approach for a bit while chucking fireballs all over the place. Good to meet you today!
we saw some kickass Blue Angel maneuvers on the way home too. totally awesome, people were pulled over on the shoulder of the interstate to watch.

Good times yesterday, a reminder for those looking for sticky street tires the kumho XS are great but still need LOTS of heat, May be looking for a co driver next time.
The cap was seeing the blue angels do thier show (that's why I did not take the outer beltway Nathan) it was just good timing for everything.
Soon enough I'll be competitive in autocross again but might as well have had fun until then.

Yesterday was fun. Very smooth on the last two runs Nate. I was very disappointed in my driving, as I just didn't have it. Note to self, don't hit up a bunch of wineries the day before a track day.

So I'm looking at investing in a set of 17x9's for racing on, and I'd be putting up for sale my (TPMS equipped!) extra set of RX8 stock wheels with my Rivals(at least 50% life left and very competitive) mounted on them.
I was thinking the wheels and tires are worth about $600 to the right buyer. I'm not in a terrible rush to get rid of them and would like to see this amount if possible.
Anyone interested?

final autocrosses of the season coming up folks, dont be afraid to come out and give it a go. It's practically impossible to damage your car doing this, dont worry about being competitive, just come out and try to grow as a driver.

I might be going to the Hunt Valley one, I've seen your car there Chris but we've still not technically met! I cant say for sure If I'll be there yet though, it'll be 27 degrees warming up to a balmy 35 by 10am :-)
I'm loosely planning on attending, if nothing else to show that the car is for sale.
Oh btw the car is for sale:

Ought to be glad you missed it
It turns out it wasn't a rotary meet at all, I was misinformed, there were nothing but brz's and frs's there. There were 5 rx8's there in total and 4 of the five were my buddy's who rode there with me, and I apologize for the day before notice, maybe more rx8's would have came if I would have posted a week before.

I picked up my 2009 rx8 r3. ~13k miles so barely used. Engine is a bit dirty though (not oil, looks like salt, title was from Connecticut so makes sense).
The only problem I am having (going to try to get the dealer to fix for free) is that the passenger side rocker panel is loose right in front of the rear wheel. The plastic retainer clip things don't look broken, but they don't hold the panel tight. In any case I am happy with the purchase and will be happier after I get it fixed. If anyone knows any tricks to getting it to stay on properly I would appreciate it as I would prefer not to let the dealer mess with the car if possible.
Also there used to be a meet at Fudds in columbia once per month for 7s and 8s. Anyone still doing that?
