No tranny war going on here.
Well in fairness, the A/T crowd does take a lot of hate on the forums so they are more sensative to the "tranny war" than most. Even my wife was nervous about being thought "lame" for having an A/T. It's easy to get rubbed raw by people constantly telling you that your choice isn't the right one. In the end the choice of car/transmission or anything else is totally up to the person. I picked the car and transmission that worked for me, and the same for my wife's choice even though the choices were different they were both right.

yeah, I guess I didn't think about how other people who were constantly getting bashed about autos would feel upon reading my post. I just posted up sort of how I was thinking I would react myself on the subject without thinking of anyone else. I definitely don't want to imply that those particular views should be forced on everyone else. I hope your wife didn't read the post either; don't want her to think I think she's lame for gettin an auto, hehe.

Anyway, the "right" choice is getting an 8, period, no matter which tranny.

There are black marks (grease?) all over the ceiling.

The trunk lid doesn't fit properly, they OBVIOUSLY didn't replace it. The left side is lower compared to the body of the car and the right side is higher.

The left tail light is sticking out about 1".. enough I can get a few fingers behind it to pull.

On my boyfriend's instruction, I took the fuse out for my subwoofer before having them tow my car. I will give the shop credit for trying to be nice and putting another fuse in for me (not really sure where they think mine went)... but they put the wrong fuse in and my subwoofer is blown. All I hear is buzzing coming from it. I don't know what kind of fuse it is but it looks NOTHING like the one I had in there before.

Thanks for your support.

I am speaking to a lawyer on Monday and also calling the insurance adjuster to rattle off the whole list of problems I've found so far... and I haven't even had a chance to put it up on a lift to look at the more serious stuff.

I'm going to flat out tell my adjuster I don't want the car anymore, I'm offended that they even remotely THOUGHT my car was anywhere in the same universe as acceptable, and if I've found this many problems in one day and this is their idea of being fixed, then I'm not dealing with it. They can buy the car from me, or I'm getting a lawyer (which I have already done and I know they won't buy the car from me but I just want them to know I mean business).

Hope your sushi night was good. I spent the evening taking pictures of the "Rx-8" and feeling sorry for myself

And now, A BLAST FROM THE PAST (month)!

What dates, man? Post your schedule!

That NJMP in June looks tasty after getting the price right.

The SYZ only has Summit Point Apr 25-26 (NASA-MA date) on the card right now.

I've been too busy / lazy / wet / damned cold to figure out what went wrong at VIR in February. Last weekend I took the -8 out for a quick run to keep everything clean, and pulled two high-throttle runs in succession without any stumbles. Doesn't prove a thing, but the nagging suspicion I got a "tank o' nasty" at a Sheetz gas station the night before the VIR weekend is getting stronger.

Wonder if the "Winning Blue" -auto is still at Belair Mazda?

And, according to my boss, there is another LY RX-8 around this section of the 'Shore! I haven't personally seen it, but how many of these were made? Bumblebees, Autobots, Zonkers, heck, let's get a formation of 'em headed down I-95 and call it "Attack of the Killer Canaries!". If I get the huffer in it, I'll have the whistle down pat...

Lexington Park, MD here in the Navy so you'll see me zipping back and forth from the base. I'm the only RX8 with a Dallas Cowboys star on the back window.

Who me?

Yup. Love that track. Hated it for the whole first year I drove it. Now I see the brilliance in the madness. I take the Karussel faster than the new ZR-1 Corvette in my lil' Wankel RX-8. Still think Bill Scott (owner of Summit Point) is freakin' crazy. It is a track that does not suffer fools as well as Summit main or VIR, and can be tough for a novice to learn. But oh, the joy of the madness!

I'm signed up for the morning. This is a great deal at 6+ runs for $28 ($32 for non-members, but you drive a Mazda, you should be a Mazda Sports Car Club member, right?). Only CDC has comparable rates.
