We also have a small group heading to Foxwoods this Saturday. Maybe a trip to someplace she might enjoy would help her realize it's the same as any other group going out for the night. At some point you "didn't know" any of the people you hang out with on a regular basis.

Hmmmmmmm....... Going to FoxWoods may get her to go, but then I will have no money left lol. We went on a cruise last year and she was hooked on the slot machines. She would run out of money and ask me for more. What I did is said "Here's $20, if you win half is mine. If you lose, thats it." Apparently my money is lucky money because I left with an extra $400. She claims she left with $100 more then she spent, but we all know she left with $0 lol.

Ha! You did better than I ever do if you managed to walk out with anything. I'm bringing 20 bucks and that's it. Money is too scarce at the moment for me to hit the black jack tables.
Maybe I'll get lucky on nickel slots.

Here is a link to the map so far.... Google maps will not recognize Hurricane Mtn. Road as a valid road.

Here is the tail of the run....
The letter G Intersection of 141 and I-93 is where I thought the bulk of the group would split and head out.
The rest of the trip is basically down by where I live.

Looking at that road, I think some safety consideration/awareness is in order. I would hate to see an accident in there, and everyone going needs to know how tight that road is. Don't get me wrong, I am excited to drive it, just the kind of road I love, but if we get someone that shows up without knowing about it, it is a recipe for an accident, either offroading or readending.
I have no problems at all bringing my laptop and cell connection to do a video review the day of before we hit it. And with the elevation changes and heavy braking, everyone needs to make sure their brakes are in shape and no tailgating. Probably should keep decent room between each car to account for oncoming vehicles. Most of that video 2 car's can't pass without 1 being off the "shoulder", which could cause problems if you are lowered.
I don't want to come off as a killjoy, but anyone that values their car should be aware of what they will be driving.

hey guys i'm on another forum, nemotorsport.com and so far the past 2 years we've had an awesome kanc run and each time we get about 90+ cars and bikes to come along. last year a couple rx8's as well. we go through the kanc, bear nothc and hurricane mountain and each year has been a blast!

i know i'd be down for whatever gets started on here, and if no one minded on other cars coming, i could post up on nems to get other non-rotary guys involved too. and i know another big cruise will go down this summer and/or fall on that site.
on another note, if you're lowered, there are quite a few spots on hurricane mtn rd that you'll violently scrape

Personally, I would prefer to keep this to rotories. When you start adding tons of other cars, even types, it removes the personal level I think is necessary to keep everything safe and mature. Nothing against the other forum or drivers specifically, but I have rarely had a successful or fun time when you get to the participation level you are talking about.
Just my opinion.

no, i agree with you. to a point, it does turn into a pain in some cases. having less people makes it better controlled and you're able to open up with more fun. more people turned into a cluster fu(k in some areas unfortunately. either way, i'll definitely be down for this.

I agree.
I was actually on the NEmotorsport sight today checking things out. Seems like a good group, but could be huge!
I like keeping it to no more than 40 max. More than that can become a hassle, navigating through traffic, waiting for people etc. Love a crowd of gear heads but sometimes its just too much.
After reviewing both of those videos and watching a BMW 540 lose an oil pan on one of the bumps...
I am not lowered (yet) but my rear suspension is getting soft and I think that anything too quick would cause some scraping... Hell I might even have my coilovers on by then.
If anyone wants to back that road out I can re configure.

I only think we should back it out if there is a simple travel problem for people that are lowered. I might have to make a detour while I'm up there to run it if it does get backed out though, that looks hella fun

its definitely fun. stock height rx8's were making it without any complaints, that i heard at least. my ms6 bottomed out on one area. there's one spot that goes downhill and the base is actually a dip so you can imagine what it does.

This looks to be like a fun trip.
If people are getting a motel/camp site, would anyone like to sign for me as I do not turn 18 until may 29th?

drksyde- that map looks pretty good. should we set up the meeting spot for Tilton Island Park? somewhere where we can all park and have a pre-cruise game plan meet up.

But in all seriousness, if I figure out how I'd stay up there, I'm definitely down for going. If anyone's got any ideas let me know.
Thanks

you should find a hotel in the area where we are going, and book a room with your credit card. just cause you're under 18, doesnt mean you cant get a hotel room. if you have problems, and im not making fun of you in any way (i bought my RX-7 when i was 18), have your parents book a hotel room for you and pay them back. we'll figure something out for you.

I live maybe 5 minutes from the mass border and would definitely be down for meeting up in mass before the cruise up. Count me in.
