im pretty sure any muffler shop can do it for you. its pretty much bolt on too so you can do it urself. if u want it for a good price then go to some muffler shop. i think it will probably be like 40? it would probably take em 15-half an hour to install

Why don't you go over to T and R Racing in Queens. Give Tony a call and he should have you on the hoist in a few minutes. He was well priced and very meticulous. Tel: 1.718.725.0179.

BTW how much did you score the midpipe for?

You need the gasket at the manifold end...about $7 I think. You can re-use the expensive one for a long time........

Jordan.

So what is the plan? You planning on removing it ever year for inspection? I'm asking because I really don't know what to expect. I've only owned a car in NY for 6 months!

Oh and how do you think the midpipe would sound with the stock exhaust? Would I be killing any HP gains by keeping the stock exhaust on?

i think it would sound really really good with the stock.. or the rb exhaust...

not sure about the hp gain.. but if u want gain in hp.. its gona be more of engine works..

exhaust is good for sound only... ^ ^

I think it will pass inspection... i dont think anyone has any problem with that.

Let me get this straight...

Replacing your Cat with the midpipe will not effect emissions testing and inpection? Am I mis-informed? The yearly inspection requires emissions right?

Unless I'm mistaken, it's illegal for someone to replace the OEM emissions hardware with an aftermarket part unless the OEM part has failed. And even then some states require you to replace it with another OEM.

It is not a straight through mid-pipe. it is a 3" mid-pipe with a Cat, so it will should meet most emissions tests.

With the supercat, don't let your first impressions of it ruin it for you, it will sound like **** for about 2 weeks while the pipes break in, and after that your car will sound like a racecar, and it will pop flames every once in a while to boot.

I believe you're mistaken:

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) anti-tampering enforcement policy is covered under the provisions of Mobile Source Enforcement Memorandum No. 1A. This policy states that the EPA will not consider any modification to a certified configuration to be a violation of federal law if there is a reasonable basis that emissions are not adversely affected.
So what counts is not the part, but the emissions. (But if you live in California, better double-check.)

I think it varies from state to state:

http://www.tceq.state.tx.us/implemen...tampering.html

Definition of "Tampering"

Installing a replacement part that is not the same in design and function as the part that was originally on the vehicle.

A catalytic converter may not be removed from a motor vehicle that is currently being used only for off-road driving. This is considered tampering. Tampering provisions pertain to all self-propelled motor vehicles originally designed for transporting persons or property on a street or highway.

if i were you, you should learn to do it yourself(the install), and whenever you feel like you dont want it on you can always put it back to stock.

Yeah, definitely check your state laws; the exact wording can make all the difference in the world. I know in Virginia all they're concerned with is that the actual emissions meet Federal/State standards. A high-flow cat is fine as long as it passes the emissions test.

ya.. i searched the forum... so dynomax bullet is like the resonator for the midpipe... but..i dont care if its loud.. just the raspy sound is what i care about.. do you think dynomax will make the exhaust system sounds deep?

and if i were to buy dynomax... does a muffler shop knows how to apply this to the midpipe? or how to weld that **** in? ehzzz... i am so lost.

Please let me know more. thanks~

I'm not sure where you're located, but I'll install it for you for a great price and also teach you how to do it for future reference. I'm always looking for side jobs to finance my addictions.
