just bought RP midpipe.. where can i get it install 4 a good price?
and the estimate price is around how much? thanks yall for helping. |
im pretty sure any muffler shop can do it for you. its pretty much bolt on too so you can do it urself. if u want it for a good price then go to some muffler shop. i think it will probably be like 40? it would probably take em 15-half an hour to install
|
y not do it urself...its an easy install...did it myself
|
shouldnt cost more than 40-50...a location of where your looking could help...you upstate or back down in the city?
|
Why don't you go over to T and R Racing in Queens. Give Tony a call and he should have you on the hoist in a few minutes. He was well priced and very meticulous. Tel: 1.718.725.0179.
BTW how much did you score the midpipe for? |
got it for 275. not sure if i am keeping it... i got greddy sp2 so.. it could be too loud for my taste but I have been wanting to try to see how its like to have one...
and thank you all for your help.. very appreciated ^ ^ Chrism, I am back to the city now... I cant install em myself.. dont got the toools nor the skills. lol Dont even know if I need to buy the $30 gasket and bolts... Do I? please let me know.. thanks guys! |
You need the gasket at the manifold end...about $7 I think. You can re-use the expensive one for a long time........

Jordan.
So what is the plan? You planning on removing it ever year for inspection? I'm asking because I really don't know what to expect. I've only owned a car in NY for 6 months! Oh and how do you think the midpipe would sound with the stock exhaust? Would I be killing any HP gains by keeping the stock exhaust on? |
i think it would sound really really good with the stock.. or the rb exhaust...
not sure about the hp gain.. but if u want gain in hp.. its gona be more of engine works.. exhaust is good for sound only... ^ ^ I think it will pass inspection... i dont think anyone has any problem with that. |
Let me get this straight...
Replacing your Cat with the midpipe will not effect emissions testing and inpection? Am I mis-informed? The yearly inspection requires emissions right? |
Unless I'm mistaken, it's illegal for someone to replace the OEM emissions hardware with an aftermarket part unless the OEM part has failed. And even then some states require you to replace it with another OEM.

With the supercat, don't let your first impressions of it ruin it for you, it will sound like shit for about 2 weeks while the pipes break in, and after that your car will sound like a racecar, and it will pop flames every once in a while to boot.

i have the same setup jordan c. its liveable for me. probably not for the people in the backseat though. lol i stay under 3k rpm when a non enthusiast is in the car. other wise i just crank it up!

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) anti-tampering enforcement policy is covered under the provisions of Mobile Source Enforcement Memorandum No. 1A. This policy states that the EPA will not consider any modification to a certified configuration to be a violation of federal law if there is a reasonable basis that emissions are not adversely affected. |

llzjayarzll ! aww man... u r making me nervous about my investment on the midpipe. lol
shitz.. hopefully i like it |
if i were you, you should learn to do it yourself(the install), and whenever you feel like you dont want it on you can always put it back to stock.

oh yea jordanc i forgot, if you think its too loud you can invvest in the dynomax bullet or similar applications for the pipe. im sure people have done this already
|
ya.. i searched the forum... so dynomax bullet is like the resonator for the midpipe... but..i dont care if its loud.. just the raspy sound is what i care about.. do you think dynomax will make the exhaust system sounds deep?
and if i were to buy dynomax... does a muffler shop knows how to apply this to the midpipe? or how to weld that shit in? ehzzz... i am so lost. Please let me know more. thanks~ |
if you do research on that and its positive, make sure you tell me so i could get it too lol.
|
I'm not sure where you're located, but I'll install it for you for a great price and also teach you how to do it for future reference. I'm always looking for side jobs to finance my addictions. :D:
|
ah... but i am far away.. in the nyc.. 6 hrs drive? thanks for the offer. Maybe if i am looking into like turbo or something big... i will let you know. thanks!
