Being Snowed In.
I had to work this past Saturday 2-10 and it was very interesting driving in that mess. I was actually pretty impressed with the way my 8 handled. The car sits so low to the ground, I was practically plowing the snow on the road. That was interesting.

Replacing Plugs Soon-Brian
Are you going to the All Mazda Meet this Saturday? If not I can come over and show you. It's actually pretty simple I thought.
My license plate is 2HARSH. Sunlight Silver Metalic RX8.

Yeh I know. It was really crappy out and I had to work, which sucked. I thought that was you too. I was really impressed with the handling. The traction control was getting a workout that's for sure.

I just got back from another visit to Ricart. They looked at the A/C they hosed up during my engine swap. Of course they couldn't find any leaks, but topped up the refrigerant because it was "a little low". I suspect they just reloaded what they captured when they changed the engine and said close enough.
I'm leaving for Alabama Friday morning for the weekend, so we will see how it does on a 1,000 mile round trip.
Be sure to take a lot of pictures at the meet Saturday - you may end up on the 2009 calendar!

Cool. No prob. I totally forgot this Sat was St Patty's day. Actually I found out today that I have to work 6a-2p on Sat so I probably won't go or do anything.
Not to mention the 8 is a magnet for cops just to dick with you on a weekend that involves heavy drinking. I know from experience.
We went to the Damn Jam this past year @ Griggs Resevoir. I got off work at 10p and picked up my wife and we went there to just hang out for a few and have a beer. I had 1.5 beers in 2 hours plus a huge cheeseburger & my wife had 2 beers and barely nothing to eat. When we left I turned on Dublin Rd (rt257, Riverside Dr, or whatever u want to call it) by the Zoo heading towards 161 going 54mph. The speed limit is 50mph as I remembered from living in Dublin during High School, 3 State Troopers past me going the opposite direction. One of them turned around and pulled me over stating I was "clocked" doing 65mph. I said she was wrong because I didn't go any faster than 54mph. I know for a fact I wasn't because my wife naggs when she's with me in this car and said I better slow down and right when I looked down at the speedo doing 54mph there go the Troopers then 1 min later those infamous lights came on behind me. I explained to the officer the speed I was going, but she kept saying I clocked you going 65mph & asked if I was had been drinking. I said I had 1.5 beers and had a huge dinner. She gave me 4 sobriety test (on gravel) and then stated I failed the test's and was arresting me for DUI. Handcuffed and stuffed in the front of her cruiser. My wife told me when she heard the clicking of the cuffs, she thought she was going to **** herself and was scared to death. I wasn't even buzzed in the slightest. I was very tired though and I know I passed all the stupid sobriety tests. She wouldn't let me do the breath allyzer for some odd reason???? I smell set up. Anyway in the end she let me go as long as my wife drove home (whom was feeling pretty buzzed from 2 beers) because her Supervisor pulled up behind her car to assist. He even tested me and said I passed all the test's. "Very Interesting".
I know long story. Sorry if it was boring. But anyway this is why I won't go out on Holiday weekends anymore. In the short time I've owned my 8 I've noticed it's quite the attention magnet.

Taking you up on that offer.
When we ever meet I can show you how I changed everything on my 8. Really the hardest part of the entire process is removing the air intake and I didn't think that was very difficult. I'm no technical gear head by far but I can hold my own under the hood of a car. I'll tear apart anything If I feel I can repair it myself. Any extra pieces left over, well evidently they weren't needed in the first place. LOL. Had none when I did my coil & plugs repair thank god.

Hey Jason, or anyone else for that fact. I have a quick question; I've read a great deal of posts' & threads regarding the OEM Air intake filter box and removing the cone and the two side panels to gain a little horsepower and create more airflow into the intake to be somewhat similar to the Racing Beat Air Intake.
My question is, Since I've removed the pieces it feels sluggish for some reason which is the opposite of what was supposed to happen. Any ideas or comments?
By the way I just replaced all coils, plugs & wires 2 weeks ago.

I don't mean to sound ignorant, but what exactly does it do and is it CHEAP? PLEASE READ BELOW BEFORE RESPONDING.

Never mind. I just read about it on Jason's website. Man this thing sounds awsome!!! I see however it's not cheap but seems reasonably priced. I think I'll it's time to save up for it. Sounds like something I need to get.

son of a ******* ****! came out from dinner at brazen head tonight and someone ran the **** into me. rear drivers door is destroyed, and theres a softball sized dent in the rear quarter panel. i want to break something...
#1367
Wow...no note left behind huh? People suck. Sorry to hear about the damage. Were there any CCTV cameras in the area that might have gotten a shot of the other vehicle? I would be furious too...to work hard for your car only to have some assclown screw it up for you, and then have the audacity not to leave a note with contact info. Scumbag...at least karma will get him/her.
#1368
Dude, that really really sucks. I know how you feel. Pretty furious! Good idea Groundrush. Check the area around or near Brazen Head (not sure where it is or whats around it) to see if there are any cameras on other buildings as well. See if Brazen Head will let you put up a sign to see if there are any witnesses. That F-in bastard will pay dearly. Karma will do far worse to the ***** than we could. My sympathies bro. Damn I would have to kill em. I'm getting pissed just thinking about it. I gotta go outside hug my 8.
Sorry didn't mean to be so insensitive. Were you in the car, if so are you ok?

haha, hug her every chance you get. i was inside, and they have no cameras. im going to call on monday and see if management will do anything out of goodwill b/c i really dont have the money to pay the deductible right now. its a really odd pattern too, im not quite sure how they managed to get the two dents so far apart. there is some scraping on the second dent, so i know something ran into it, but otherwise id almost swear someone kicked it in.

Having experience in retail I hate to say, I doubt they will do anything. Unfortunately a retail business has nor will assume any responsiblity for the parking lot as far as personal property. I've been thinking about your post since I read it and I'm still a little pissed. Hugging my 8 calmed me down a bit and was able to collect some thoughts. I wish you the best when you speak to the management. Doesn't hurt to try though.

Bummer Brian! Looks to me like drunk vandals gave it a couple of kicks. Same thing should happen to them!
In this case it should go under the comprehensive part of your insurance. Maybe there is a lower deductible for that? Talk to your agent.
Dublin cops no help? Seems like with all the money they make on their Rt. 33 money-maker they could afford a few cameras.
Good luck!

Got back from my 1000 mile trip to Huntsville & back. Bad news is that it was all in the rain. Good news is that the car ran well and even had air conditioning! It turned out that was critical, as I spent a good part of the trip defogging. The other good news is that the moron tech @ Ricart overfilled the oil so much that I didn't have to add any, even after 1,000 miles. Hard to get good help these days.

Whew. Brian that sucks. This is one of the big reasons I don't go out and do **** anymore. To many animals out there trying to destroy your ****. Jealious ********. They bang their car doors into yours not even giving a ****.
I always park as far from people as possible or next to the cartrails where the shopping carts go. Something to protect my 8 from these people that don't care. This one-time I parked so far out at WalMart there were about 10-15 empty parking spaces on all sides of my car. When I came out this ******* was parked about a foot from my drivers door. Luckily no door ding. I waited until the person came out and proceeded to rip the hell out of them. Ignorant crap like this and what happen to Brian really really gets under my skin, and nothing usually gets under my skin.
I feel for ya Brian. Damn animals.
