Bump! 7th thread from the bottom, our thread is hurting.
How's everyone doing? The car will be out of the body shop soon. Debadged the emblems, fixed the scratches left by the OEM spoiler, fixing a cracked front lip, and repainting the Mazdaspeed bodykit gunmetal trims to a darker color. Once the car is back, an RP Supercat will go on. Might need to have a shop weld in hangers. Any recommendations?

Not too good. State po po busted me for no front plate yesterday. He said he had been "observing" me for several weeks. I call it stalking, but I gues we'll discuss that in court a week from tomorrow.

Pfft. Sorry to hear that Jeff. Guess I should probably break down and put my front plate on. I was driving home from work yesterday and passed a county sherriff. He sorta cocked his head as he passed me and then very obviously accelerated. I wasn't speeding, so I'm guessing he was looking at the missing front plate.
Fortunately for me, there wasn't any place for him to immediately turn around. I did see him very quickly catch up with traffic in front of him and repeatedly tap his brakes. It looked like he was clearly itching to turn around and come after me.
I was able to get about a half-mile distance from him before he reached the intersection where he could turn around. As soon as I could tell he was thinking about coming after me, I put my foot in it a little to get around a curve and out of line of sight. I made a quick left into a neighborhood where I sort of gently drove about for a few minutes admiring the pretty houses. Heh...now I just need to FIND the plate. I have a feeling that he's going to be gunning for me next time.
On to more important things...when are we going to meet again? I know it might be a bit tough with Saturday football now, but I want to gawk at Ra's car again.

That's a bummer Jeff. I've been thinking about throwing mine on, but it just ruins the whole mazdaspeed bumper. Plus I'd need to figure out a way to mount it without having to drill holes. We'll see...
Thanks Brian...showed my wife your comment, and she said to stop making my head swell! LOL!
The car is out of the shop. Freshly shaven. I haven't gotten a realy good look yet, but there is a spot on the rear diffuser that will need to be fixed. Looks like they messed up on the clear coat.

yeah - my guess is he spotted me at one point and thought it would be easy to find a guy driving a red sports car doing something wrong. I think it pissed him off that every time I knew he was near, I was a model citizen. So he had to pick a chicken-**** way to give me a ticket - and not even a fix-it warning.
It's all good - now it's my turn to observe for several weeks and report my findings to his superior
I'm hungry - who's up for a City Barbeque run?

How about tomorrow (Sunday) for an early dinner?
We haven't gone to the east side yet? Brian and Ra are over on that side of town.
There is an awesome chicken finger place called Cane's at the corner of Morse and Hamilton that Ra and I have met at before.
Does that interest anyone? 5p-ish?

I had only suggested 5-ish because we have a church function until 2 or so and I thought that would be too late for a lunch meet. Ra also as puppy duty until 5p if I understand correctly.
So he should be in barring any last minute issues.
Jeff, Will you not be able to make it if we go a later?

Well, It ended up just being Ra and I (plus are families) but we had a great time at Cane's and the local park. Look for pics soon. Hopefully we'll see you all soon. We could do a run to Hocking Hills some Sunday afternoon. Though we may have to do it soon because it looks like the colors are changing fast this year.

Hey any of you guys have any suggestions where to get tires put on? I was just going to take it to Firestone. Is it cheaper anywhere else? My Kumho's are just wearing out way too fast.

I had mine done at Dicount Tire, but I don't recommend it. They scratched my wheels. You don't notice it unless you look, but I know it's there. Just careless work with the tire changing machine.
They also didn't bother cleaning up the tape from the prior wheel weights.
Just shoddy work overall.
I need to find somebody better before spring when I'll need new skins.

All my work as been done at Disc. Tire. There is a guy named Anthony at the Easton location and he is a big car guy and he'll take good care you and your car. If you go there let him know that I referred you. He'll put his best guy on it and all will be fine.
PS - Next Sunday for the drive to Hocking Hills or the following week or the following week?
