21st would work for me, though I'd have to be back home by 5:30ish so's my wife can go to work. I'll keep watching to see if it's confirmed, and hope to see you guys then.

21st will work for me also. Let's start praying that the weather is nice (or at least dry).

21st it is then, Nice!

Looking forward to it.

Shall we meet at high Noon? But where? Jeff and Brian will be coming from the Westside so they will probably hit 70E out there and come through the city where Ra, Brian and I will come from the east side of town. 270 south to 33. There really isn't a "meeting place" in the area of 70 & 33 that I can think of.

Would something like the Hooters parking lot on Main and 270 work? Or meet further down 33 at Ricart or Bob McDorman Chevorlet areas? I think that it would be beneficial to eat first and then drive down. That way the food is settled before our hike to Old Man's Cave.

Any thoughts?

Somewhere near Ricart's seems to make the most sense, but I'm not very familiar with the area. About the only thing a search returned was the Bob Evans at 4019 Hamilton Sq. Blvd. I defer to somebody with a better knowledge of that area.

In any case, noon sounds good - looking forward to it.

There's been an assload of development down in Canal Winchester off that exit where Bob McDorman's is. There's a big strip mall there right off the exit, I think with a Wal-Mart. That would give us plenty of room to park/meet up. Or we could just go to Ricart and look at their Rx-8 inventory.

Any location fine by me.

I think the Gender Road Exit at 33 sounds good. Brian you are right, there has been quite a bit of developement in that area so we should be able to find a place to meet and eat there.

For the folks not familiar with that area, you'll exit Gender Rd. off 33 and turn right (or south). If I try to get to the (Kroger/ Walmart?) parking lot first, you should all be able to find the yellow RX-8 in vast sea of vehicles. We'll wait for a bit there for all to arrive, then hop over to whatever food establishment will take us.

Hopefully that will work for everyone. State your case if not.

See you all in a couple weeks.

do you by chance mean the gender road exit? thats where kroger and walmart are. i worked in that area for a few months, theres all the fast food we could want, and sit down restaurants include las margaritas, donatos, bdubs, skyline and bob evans.

my rear o2 sensor went bad yesterday. i was out shopping for a new refrigerator, which went bad the previous evening, and all of a sudden my check engine light comes on solid. all in all it was a fun day. luckily rosenthall hooked me up, $130 shipped for a part md wanted to charge me $304

lastly, there are too many brians. im going by bfk from now on

I agree...too many Brians. From now on, just refer to me as "that guy with the silver 8". Or "asswipe". Whichever you prefer.

See you guys Sunday at noon.

if they werent bald and they were bridgestones id be all over it! apparently i have a tiny nail and a very slow leak in the shoulder of my rear left tire. i suspect its been there for months, and the guys said it should be fine as long as i monitor my pressure. at any rate, i should be able to get though until the winters go on

I know it's too early to forecast, but it calls for sunny, high of 78*F for our drive!

Is anyone here familiar with the area to map out a route through all the twisties?

Guys,

Just an FYI, we'll take U.S. 33 East through Lancaster to Logan, Ohio and exit onto State Route 664 South to get to the Hills. There are some good twisties just on that alone. I may try to scope out a map for addittional side roads though.

From Logan, Ohio:
Take 664 South 12 miles to park.

Old Man's Cave is located just off State Route 664 across from the tiered parking lot at Hocking Hills State Park. Within a stones throw is the Naturalist Log Cabin and the newly renovated Hocking Hills State Park Visitor Center.

Interesting things to look for:

Old Man's Cave was aptly named for an early settler, Richard Rowe, who set up living quarters in one of the many recess caves in the area after the Civil War. Killed by an accidental blast of his own gun, it is said local native Indians buried him somewhere near the entrance of the Cave. Take a guess where he is allegedly buried in one of the recess caves of the park.

Devil's Bathtub-a churning tub of water spilling into the creek below.

Waterfalls, waterfalls, waterfalls.

Sphinx Head-at the far end of the trail, a rock formation taking the form of a sphinx head.

Length: Old Man's Cave is approximately 1 mile long and takes about an hour to hike.

can we get a roll call? im terrible with names, so correct me if im wrong

success...anthony
huhwah...jeff
groundrush...brian

menace (and friends?)

the reason i ask is b/c this place gets pretty crowded sunday mornings/afternoons due to the after-church rush, and a crowd of 20 or so would probably have an hour wait at a bob evans. i think wed have better luck going to las margaritas or donatos
