I'm still here. 96k miles in 6.5 years. Getting ready to do belts, hoses and water pump before I take two 1500 mile trips in April.

 

I don't think I could afford the gas for those trips >.<

Also, got my car back from the body shop and the RB exhaust on ("moderate" sideways force my ***) so I'm up for a meeting.

 

I get mine back Wednesday. Then geting an exhaust very soon..

 

Time to swap out the winter tires? Or do you think we'll have that one last big snow storm of the season???

 

hold on another week or so. i dont think well get snow, but the temp is dropping again and its too cold for the summer rubber.

Been going to rx-7 store for work. Now my Silver '05 is dead and one cylinder has no compression - looks like this is covered under warranty extension and a new negine may be on its way. the question is - which dealer shop do i take it to for the work? any thoughts? I live in Westerville. Thanks!

Ricart did my engine. By memory, about 2 weeks. Had to go back because they forgot to recharge the A/C. Knock on wood, 50,000 miles later, it's all good. Buyers blows, Mazda Direct thankfully went out of business, so your options are limited. Whoever you use, you need to stay on them though.

Summers are going on before my 1st trip - probably the weekend of April 2. Sounds like a good time for a meet. Put the tires on, clean it up and roll. Where to? City Barbeque sounds yummy - I'm due!

Trips - hmm - 3000 miles 20 mpg is 150 gallons @ $4 ea makes it $600. Yup, cuts into the beer fund

thanks. i got a 2008 red sti. the paint is a bit rough, but for the price i paid for it i cant complain. ill probably get her resprayed eventually, but im back in school so money should be spent elsewhere

 

idk offer ill need a stock exhaust back on and idk i paid 600 i think for it its failry new have reciepts. ill trade for the sc jk and i am jeremy on fb just get at me

 

When I used to own my 8, I took it in to Byers Mazda. Jill was my SA and she was very good to work with. Like you I fail the compression, thus lead to a new refurb engine. I did all my services there because Mazda Direct went out of business. Never had any issues at all and its been positive.

How about getting together Sunday about 1 for lunch? City Barbeque, 2111 Henderson Rd, Columbus? Unless somebody has another thought.

I'll have the summers on, but looks like the weather will keep me from cleaning it up properly.
