Threw my 6th CEL! Turns out it was the gas cap again. This time they actually changed it. Also finally got my parkimg brake changed as well as my oil.

Hopefully good to go for a while now.

Only 2 weeks until the Mid-Ohio race! Don't forget to order your tickets now!

To those interested we are having a dyno day and cruise on July 7th. We will start dynoing around 10 am with a cruise in the afternoon and dinner at Quaker Steak and Lube in the evening. We have reserved parking up there for our group. This event is open to all domestic and import cars. We will have a bunch of RX-7's , RX-8's and wide variety of other stuff. I will post more info when I have it.

Jeff, I'm still hoping to get to Mid-Ohio on the 24th. Just an fyi.

Jason, 07/07/07 sounds good also. I'd like to see if these mods have made any 'real' difference. Also, I see on your website the HKS single outlet exhaust. Do you have any in stock? I would be interested to see and hear it if so.

Yep, got my Mid-Ohio ticket a couple days ago...I'm all set. I may be bringing along my younger brother, but he's unsure of his schedule at this point, so may just be me. I'll keep my eyes peeled for the meeting location. Let's hope Sylvan doesn't drive #70 into the wall like he did last weekend...the other RX-8 finished 9th.

My car is done. I pick her up tomorrow morning. I'm heading straight from the body shop to Discount Tire to pick up replacement wheels for the rear. I'm going 19x9.5" +35mm 275/30/19 and they are meaty!

Are wives going to Mid-Ohio?

Everyone is welcome! As for me, my son left for an internship at NASA in Huntsville last week. I asked my wife if she was interested, which was met with that glazed-over expression. So - I'm going solo.

Looking forward to seeing the car Anthony!

If I get some time tonight, I'll put together some possibilities for meeting points, etc.

Columbus is starting to stir up some activities! I like it!

Will definitely make it out to Mid-Ohio, sans wife. Out of town July 4th week, but may be back for the dyno day.

Ok - I'm in possession of the car and the new wheels.

I'm in for both events.

I'll order a ticket today.

dented my door at indy today . not enough sleep for the weekend and trying to park as humanly close to a telephone pole with some random boxes hanging out isnt a good idea, just in case anyone was planning on trying it. luckly no paint damage, but itll probably be a few hundred to pop out

Bummer, but at least the paint is intact. How big is the dent?

just sayin hey, i live in columbus but never followed this thread.

ive got a large dent like that in my rear right door as well, let me know how much it ends up running to fix it? i'll probably leave it like that til i have to turn it in though.

also... on Memorial Day highway patrol pulled me over on 315N just before the Med Center/King Ave exit... after following me take the exit and make a few turns. I wasnt speeding, didnt run any lights.. and he gets me for window tints that was a quick $110 out the window. Angering thing is that I KNEW he'd be there waiting so i made sure to follow all the rules... just forgot to drop the windows. ended up metering at 21%. on the fronts.

Hey RX-8 guys/gals!

Im just here to tell you about a dyno day this weekend right here in Columbus at Defined Autoworks! This is a shop that specializes in rotary and other high performance engines. There's usually plenty of RX-7's but we want more RX-8's for sure!

more info about the shop can be found here:
http://www.rx7club.com/showthread.php?t=658081
or at www.definedautoworks.com

When: This Saturday, June 23, 2007

Cost: 3 pulls with wideband hookup, vaccum/ boost hookup $35.00
5 pulls with wideband hookup, vaccum/boost hookup $50.00

Where: Defined Autoworks

Address: 12157 Broad St.
Pataskala, Ohio 43062

Contact: Peter or Logan

Phone: 614-592-7991

Even if you dont want to dyno there should be a pretty big turnout and plenty of cool rotary cars to check out. Theres also a lot of cool stuff on display to look at as well. Feel free to cruise over when you have a chance and check out the shop and all the cars!

Thanks,
Max

Hey Max. I'm just up the street from you guys and will swing by on Saturday to say hello. Are you in the blue "Mazda Fix" building there on Broad Street? I enjoy staring at all the RX-7s parked outside when I drive by. Did I see an old RX-2 parked there recently? I think that's what it was, but I was hurrying by and when I drove back by with an intent to stop and look at it, it was gone. By the way, you guys installed a lightweight flywheel and performance clutch in my Miata a year or so ago.

Anyway, looking forward to see all the rotary goodness sometime on Saturday.

Yes, thats the building! You probably did business with Ken in the past, the older guy who works there and started the shop. His son Logan and our friend Peter started Defined Autoworks as a high performance spin off under the same shop. The miata reminds me of another point though: all vehicles are welcome!!! even if its a moped or your moms minivan, we'd love to see you guys out there. The old school car was the probably the silver RX-4 that logan built for his wife. Using a 13b-re cosmo engine it makes 206rwhp n/a, so its quite a fun car. It will be on display all day as well! I'll be there with my brown FC so if you stop by feel free to come bother me, haha.

i had a CEL about two weeks ago, and then the next day my car wouldnt start. Jumped it took it in, for service, and apparently it had to do with the battery or something. So per some TSB, they replaced my started and battery, and I think spark plugs. No idea they were gonna do all that.
Fun fact. ANy of you guys had that stuff replaced?
I also noticed that my door stomp things that say RX8 are beginning to lift up. any of you guys having this problem?

if ur ever around the meridian apartments dont leave valuables in your car. I live here.. 8 hours after i remove the window tints from my car due to the ticket.. .my car gets busted into. awesome. took my 60gb ipod. thats it... left my wallet, my book bag, my PDA ...

if they had just busted the window id be ok with it.. 150 bucks and i'd replace it ok... but no they had to try to pry the windows down and shatter it quietly so now i need to get the frame fixed also.

The battery, starter, and spark plug recalls are all typical. I've had all but the starter done, and one of these days I'll wind up asking for it to be replaced too. And my sill plates are sticking down just fine.
