Hey all,

Just wondering if anyone here works at the Chase McCoy Center on Polaris Parkway?

I see about 5 or 6 RX8's parked here every day.

Just a reminder that we are having an open house / Dyno day on July 7th. Free food and beverage. Hope to see those that can make it.

how was jasons?

ive got an issue, any guidance would be appreciated. my transmission has been randomly grinding during shifts for probably 30-35k miles now, but its one of those things that the techs can never replicate of course. well finally it will always grind when doing a high rpm shift from 3->4, so i took it in to md and they called and were told to add some lubricant to the transmission fluid and give it 5k to work in. 5k later the problem is still there, and worse. tried to take it in yesterday and had a horrrible experience; i ended up having to take my car b/c they couldnt find anyone to give me a loner after 35mins. called in today to see if they could have a loaner ready for me this time and was told that they called tech and that the problem was normal and the transmission wasnt meant to shift quickly. i called him out on that bs, but he pretty much said take it to byers/ricart. ill be taking it into ricart tomorrow and having a lengthy discussion with mazda na about the issue, but has anyone else experienced something similar or have any suggestions?

Brian,

Sorry to hear about the problems. I think in my mind at least, that my shifter movement is taking a little more effort now, but it's not grinding. I've been thinking I'm about due to change trans & diff fluids, so I will do that when I work up the ambition. (Before I go to the Dragon, anyway!)

MD has changed rental companies fron Hertz to Enterprise. This completely blows! Last time there, the kid pulls a car around for me and says "here you go." Yeah - fat chance. It stunk like old cigar smoke so bad I couldn't sit in it! That and the mysterious stains all over the interior - I said no way - go find another one. The second one wasn't much better, but at least my eyes didn't water from the stink.

I complained and they know they have a problem with Enterprise, butI'm not sure they will do anything about it. It's all about the $$$.

I'd be interested in your experience at Fred's. I really hate going to that place, but if they have intelligent technicians, it might be worth it.

I guess this is one more incidence that we can chalk up to Mazda repair incompetence...."IT'S YOUR FAULT!" or "IT'S NORMAL!" seem to be their mantra. Sorry to hear about your trouble. I haven't had any grinding with mine, but I haven't even broken 15k yet, so I'm probably of no help whatsoever. Here's hoping someone down at Ricart has their head screwed on straight. LOL..."it's supposed to be shifted quickly"...what a tard.

Sadly, I think the only racing I'll be seeing this weekend will be in the golf cart I'll be buzzing around in at work. They're opening a new ER/surgical pavilion at the hospital, and I'm helping staff an open house, otherwise I'd be interested in going.

Hey Jeff...did you ever hear anything else out about those open dates at Mid-Ohio in which regular Joes like us hit the track? I got the itch...

It's confirmed, I'll be arriving tomorrow about 10:00. If anybody else is going, PM me your cell and we can get together for a bit up there.

Brian, I looked up the schedule and will post a feeler thread hopefully later tonight. I'll put a link here as well.

Anyone interested in the trip to Cedar Point 8/11?
https://www.rx8club.com/mw-rx-8-forum-31/fun-run-cedar-point-oh-saturday-aug-11th-121348/

I'll be heading up there, only because it's company paid for, but I'm not sure if I want to drive the 8 up.

Anthony,

I'm game. I meant to post earlier, but I am not going to make Mid-Ohio on the 17th. Work calls.
