Welcome. You're from my hometown! Although I no longer live in GC, I visit my parents often.

I still have my original engine. Seems to be working fine for me.

i usually go to mazda direct for my service. i have not gotten my letter yet about the recall. the thing is. i baby my car hardly ever go beyond 4k... never hit 7 8 or 9 redline.. you think my car will be one of the ones needing an engine it runs rough at idle speed. wish they would just replace it to be honest....

I went to Mazda direct today to get it looked at but there laptop crashed last night so they weren't able to check the engine per the recall.
By the way, welcome BluzClu! I hope you're still in the breakin period if you don't go beyond 4k otherwise drive that car like it was meant to be driven!

did you have your "letter" with you. or you just went up there? i'm waiting on mine, and probably won't take it in till the end of October. when I'm on vacation. Ya a couple of people on here told me to drive it hard. so i guess i'll have to change my driving habits.

No, I didn't have the "letter", but I'll be going back to have it tested when their laptop is up and running again.

Anthony, a belated congrats to you guys on the new addition!

It's been a week since I had mine done. I think you guys will lke this new flash. Really smoothed things out all through the power band. The idle is better too. Burned one tank this week - got my usual 19.6 mpg. That's probably the last of that, as the winter fuels will arrive any day.

Forogt to check my oil. I'll check it later, but the clowns at MD overfilled it so much, I'm sure it's fine.

The in-laws are in town...............I'M IN!!!!!! j/k

Hopefully next time though. I think a meet in the next couple weeks would be nice considering the weather change. The 8 runs great in the fall.

I have the MS intake, JIC four-point strut tower, JIC two-point rear strut tower, RX8Store Hi-Flo Cat, and Racing Beat Exhaust on order with most of it arriving by this Friday.

I'm also looking to have Jason tune the CZ 1.1 while it's in also. Can't wait til it's all finished.

Whatever you do DO NOT MENTION THIS TO MY WIFE, it's recall work!!!!!!! haha!

The MS CAI arrived yesterday and it really looks good. The cone filter on it is quite.......large. Wasn't expecting it to be that big.

I'm also headed into M Direct for the new 'S' Flash next week as well as the "recall" work. Chris said they will be inspecting the cat as well as some other things. Not exactly sure what else though. Anyone have this done yet?

Anthony, see my post above. I had this done 3 weeks ago. I'd be interested in hearing about your experience. I think there has been at least a change in personnel, if not management. They seem to have sunk to a new low - now on a par with the rest of the hacks around here.

Anybody have any experience with Bob Boyd or the dealer near Dayton? Long way to go either way, but I'm really fed up with indifference and incompetence.

I'd call them before you go in because last time I was in to get the recall and new flash, their laptop was down. As of last week, they told me it was still down and it had been sent beack to Dell to get fixed

So how long is this now to fix a damn laptop - more than 2 weeks?

This is why I think this joint is going down the drain.

Great - now I have to bring the wife's Miata in. Should be a hoot.
