I hate to think of nasty weather coming, but it's going to happen anyway

Toward that end, I ordered my winter wheels & tires today:

Blizzak WS-50s on Kazera KZ-Rs

that'll have to do until I can get to a better climate

This was originally an email foward I got a couple months back, but it made it onto Car and Driver November Issue "Readers' Sightings". Here's the story behind the brief image.

A recent graduate of Ohio State moved to Dearborn, Michigan after
accepting a great job. After becoming a citizen of Michigan she felt
almost as if she betrayed her Ohioan background and ancestry. She had an
apartment with a Michigan address and she winced whenever she looked at
her Michigan driver's license. When she registered her vehicle she had
an idea. When her personalized license plate arrived for her car she
beamed while she affixed them to her car. She was so proud she sent an
instant message to her father right away. He was a proud Ohio State
alumnus as well. She typed, "Daddy I get my new personalized plates for
my Mini today. They are University of Michigan plates!" "WHAT?" he
replied, "You have to be joking" "Nope, I'm totally serious. Let me send
you the image."
Her father couldn't stop laughing after he viewed the picture of her
car.

Go Buckeyes! (in an effort to raise the morales of last weeks loss)

I see they finally banned political nonsense on this board. Despite being an athiest my only comment would be "Praise the Lord".

I come here and the one other forum I visit regularly (BanjoHangout.com) for RELIEF from the constant politics that have invaded every other corner of the net.

Hey!..Havent post here inawhile.. I just took my car into service today (recall) and they found nothing wrong. I did see a red and 2 ti gray at mazda direct, must be for the same reasons...Well I see that people are starting to order winter tires. Did most of you guys get tpms? Im thinking about getting wheels and dunlop m3 tires (17) and just throw them on myself. People with 17's(avil) do you find yourself taking in to a shop and have them balance it?

Well then we're going to have to do another get together before you store it in the garage.

I did not get tpms with my 17 wheel & tire package. Just couldn't bring myself to throw any more money at it.

Definitely. We need a Saturday where the Buckeyes are out of town but NOT the Minnesota game (10/29) since Anthony is going to that game. The only choice for a Saturday is October 22.

Any sunday except October 30th would work.

:D

Sorry to hear that you lost your job. I forget if it's HungHorse or Alphapenguin that works at one of the wireless phone companies but if you're looking to get back into that , try PM'ing them. I'm a resident at OSU, not really sure if I can help but let me know if I can.

What's happenin' fellas? Long time no write.

I was out of town this past weekend and busy raking leaves Sunday when I got back. Six 30lbs. Home Depot bags later.........

A get together sounds good. Took my car in for recalls plus the latest flash and the car has been running better than ever. The engine is much smoother at idle as well as under acceleration. Still have a rattle in the roof that won't go away but what to do.

This Sunday is my birthday so I'm not sure what's going on that day but maybe the weekend after that?

Let's start getting some ideas on dates. Is City BBQ on Henderson still the location?

PS - The Cold Stone that we went to a couple times has closed. Apparently we didn't get together enough to warrant them staying open.

PPS - I'll hopefully have some pics printed from Greece by that time also.

Anthony,

I think I spotted you. Friday around 11:30am. You were heading north on I-71 (just south of 270 on the south side). There can't be that many yeller eights with eye-lids in Columbus.

I was heading down to Nashville for the IBMA (Internation Bluegrass Music Association) fan fest.

No, not me T.

I'z a workin' man. I wish it was me cuz that would mean I wasn't workin'.

If it has black wheels you'll know it's me for sure next time.

Keep up the ideas for a gathering everyone.

P.S. - Are any of you guys interested in my RX8Store exhaust or my CZ 1.1?

I'm considering a turbo and I want to get an idea if I can sell my current parts.

There is a yellow 8 with chrome rims/red painted brake calibers parked at odd lots off rt.23 and lazelle. I drive by there all the time and that car is always there.
Anyway just purchase my winter tires, went with dunlop m3 tires and kz-t rims. We should gather soon. Im free on the weekends

-Ra you could get your springs install at http://www.sksmotorsports.com/
Its off taylor rd in reynoldsburg. They work a lot on aftermarket products.

i ended up winning an auction for one of those switchblade keychains, but I didnt realize it didnt come with a trunk release. Anywhoo, anyone interested? You need a new key cut for it, and I paid about 110$. Let mew know before I decide to repost it on ebay. is this breaking the rules of the forum?

Ra, I had my S-Techs installed at the RX8Store in Hilliard. Jason, Xavier and the gang hooked it up. Did you ever get your windows tinted?

Hung, I've seen that LY 8 also. I live just around the corner from there. The calipers are actually yellow. They don't match the car and I think it looks terrible. The chrome rims do nothing for me either. Overall not a good look IMO.

Anthony- That's what I figured. Jason gave me a quote of $200 for the install. Does that sound about right? I don't think that's too bad. Now I'm debating on whether I should do it now or later in the spring. Oh and I couldn't decide between the basic tint or the stealth. I'll have to wait and see yours up close.

Ra, that seems about right though its been awhile now since I've had mine done. You will love the drop when it's done. Perfect.

Rider, I'm considering putting together a portfolio though I'm not up to speed on all the shows that he would want the car to go to. I read in some other threads your expertise on radar detectors and laser jammers. I'd like to get your opinions on them sometime.

Any takers on the CZ 1.1 or the exhaust? Just curious.
