I'm around the Dayton area but I'd be down for a cruise sometime if we get a few people.

I spotted a titanium gray gt at the bp gas station in Delaware last night. I had to put gas in my sunlight silver head out. Just seeing if it was someone on the forum. Also there is a brilliant black with clear corners and black aftermarket rims that have a red stripe downtown that parks on sandusky all the time. Also wondering if they joined the forum

I'm down for some cruising Tuesday night. I'm usually home by 6-ish, and I live just around the corner from schutz.

Hey!

Anyone know of anybody looking for RX-8 parts?

I have a few things for sale. All brand new, that I never put on the car. They have been in storage since before I sold the car in 2011.

I have:

-Authentic Sunlight Silver Mazdaspeed Side Skirts BRAND NEW never installed still in the box with the hardware install kit.

-Authentic Mazda Illuminated shift **** BRAND NEW never installed

-Eibach Pro Kit Springs BRAND NEW never installed

-Authentic Mazdaspeed Shocks/Struts Front & Rear BRAND NEW never installed.

and more...

I'm going to start a proper for sale thread later this week, but wanted to give you guys a heads up first as to what is coming. And if you know anyone looking for parts let them know I'll have a bunch of stuff for sale coming later this week.

Thank!
Will

I have been a regular there since they got the Mazda Corral going, but not this year. I have too many family obligations in Michigan that weekend.
Why can't families schedule their events around my racing calendar?

I would like to get back up there, but I'm leaving for vacation that weekend. Disappointing after missing last year because I was working the OSU game.

I would say I'm interested in the illuminated shift ****, but I'm positive it's worth a lot more than I would be willing to part with. glws

I need to get in here more often. Anyway, I'm in for Mid-Ohio. For those who haven't been, Marlon puts on a great corral compete with food, swag, team visits and pace laps!

I'll be headed up both Friday the 14th and Saturday the 15th if anybody is interested in a caravan. FYI, ODOT has 71 and 314 all hosed up, so we'll have to take the long way around through Lexington.

Bigwille, if you still have the shock and struts, pm me. At nearly 140,000 miles, my originals are done!

Hey Huhwha, I'll be at Mid-Ohio as always. I'll be with the Genesis Coupe corral though. I'll come over and try to say high at the Mazda corral.

If you don't get anyone to caravan with you, you can caravan up with me and my friends, we are meeting up at Polaris around 7:30 am on Friday the 14th and going to stop at the 36/37 Cracker Barrel for breakfast then head on up to Mid-Ohio around 9 am-ish.

You're welcome to roll up with us!

Hey guys. Old local member here checking in. Been a long time since I've last posted. I see Jeff is still poking around...

In any event, I fear my engine is going. Hot weather stalling. Did it to me once last fall after noticing a loss of power, but the car fired right back up and hadn't done it since. This past week in 90+ degree heat and after about 60-90 mins of driving, did it again. Letting the car cool would let me lurch a bit down the road before stalling again. No CEL, temp gauge normal. Maintenance is all up to date.

Anyway, has anyone had a good experience with one of the local dealers on pursuing warranty engine replacement? I need to have a compression test and want to ensure that it is done properly and that I'll get a fair shake. Not interested in a shop interested in giving me a "replace-this-or-that-part" merry-go-round when all signs point to imminent engine failure. Coils, plugs, wires all have less than 20k on them, so I'm highly doubtful that's the culprit. Gonna swap the fuel filter too just to see if that may be the issue, but I doubt it. Car runs/pulls fine when cool.

Anyone have a minimally painful experience with a dealer locally? I know Mazda tends to deny these for just about reason they can, so I have an uphill battle. Just hoping there is someone reputable locally to get the ball rolling.

Brian,

Ricart swapped my engine, nearly 100,000 miles ago now! I'd say they were competent. Missed promised dates twice as I recall. Also drained the A/C (which they didn't need to do) and didn't properly recharge it, which meant another trip to get it fixed.

Knock on wood, all is good. Have you been premixing?

Hi Jeff. Yeah, been premixing for a number of years now. To be honest, I was optimistic that it would prevent any issues...now I'm obviously doubting that. Typically have used Idemitsu and MMO, but recently switched to Protek R exclusively. I'd remember you saying that Ricart did yours. Germain is closer to me, so would prefer there, but no idea if they're knowledgable/reputable. Just dreading what's coming...blech.

I don't have any experience with a local dealer regarding an engine replacement (knock on wood!!!) but I did recently buy a 2011 Mazda3 from Germain on Morse Road. There sales dept was very honest and straightforward, and they didn't try to play the typic BS sales games. So far, there service department seems pretty good.

As usual, Mid-Ohio was a blast! I desperately miss those RX-8s screaming down the backstretch though. I took the parade laps with the corral group Saturday - always fun! Also gridded the cars for the Continental race. All in all, another great weekend.

I was wondering where you guys to get your cars serviced and oil change? I only do Byers Mazda, where I bought it. They've done everything perfect, except the problem with starting the motor after turning it off. But once they experience it themselves they replaced the engine, no cost to me(Love warranties) Plain yellow with window tints for now still working on rims. AD1DAS plates.

I use ZN Performance all the time. Zavier Neely (hence the business name) was at the RX7 store for eyars and has been on his own for the past 4 years. Location is a big to a drag, and he has no night drop so it's not as conveneint, but he does amazing work for a fraction of the cost of a dealer. OIl changes I take care of by the house. But everything else goes to Zavier. I just got my engine replaced and my warranty expires next March. So form here on out, my options ZN or trade-in.

Germain quoted my over $900for a brake job - he did it for half that with upgraded parts. Same happened with spark plug replacement - Byers wanted like 350 for parts & labor, ZN did it for half of that. People send him cars for mall over the country.
I"d like to ask, now that I have this replacement engine, I want to try premixing - where do you guys buy your premix and what do you use here in Ohio?

Anyone here live in or near Columbus? There is an 09 GT I am looking at on Autotrader and was wondering if someone were in the area if they could take a real look at it for me as I am in Denver.
