Just a quick update. Currently about 122,000 miles. Headed for CT to visit my brother and go to Lime Rock next week. Last race for the RX-8s Should end up being about 1,500 miles on that trip when all is said and done. Then, it's off to Tennessee and Alabama at the end of October. That should be another 1,100 or so miles.

It will be eight years next week!

 

Over the weekend, I replaced the front air dam on my car. The original factory air dam had a few scrapes on the bottom (not visible unless you crawl under the car) but I also scraped up one of the corners when I pulled in too close to a curb. If anyone local is interested in a slightly damaged OEM air dam in velocity red, let me know. It is yours for FREE. Local pick up only....will not ship.

 

Well hey all!... I'm a new(ish) transplant from the Cincy/NKY group. Moved up to Westerville back in May, and I work out in Easton (and sometimes off Cleveland Av). So if anyone's seen an 09 R3, then that'd be me.

Here's hoping this place will be a bit more lively in the coming days!

im thinking about buying aftermarket exhaust for my 8 and i was wondering where do you guys think i should take it to get it installed

 

Any idea who owns the S1 that's been parking at the Huntington building in Easton?... Seen it the last couple of days.

 

They're pretty simple to install, I did mine (racing beat) and I had 0 experience with something like that. Just have to spray lubricant into where the rubber holders contact the hangers, makes it about 10x easier. I figured that out after I took forever to pry off the first 4-5.

As far as having someone do it for you, I know some people have used the rx7store

 

Well tomorrow is my last day contracting there, unfortunately. For the next 3 weeks I'll be making the hour-long commute to the Honda plant in Marysville. Lovely.

Back from the southern trip. Just clicked over 126,000 on the way in this morning. Oil change time!

Apparently today was a good day to get your 8 out. Saw 4 of them on the way home. Sunlight Silver was heading West on 33 into Marysville, BB was heading 33 East into Dublin, Another SS turned onto Cleveland from Polaris Pkwy, and a TI Gray was heading past Meijer on Polaris Pkwy.

 

I spotted a SS with the plates Zoom8 in the parking lot of St Paul Sunday morning. It was gone when I got out of mass.

 

I noticed that - but I live next to the Meijer, so I turned off before I saw what was causing the ridiculous backup. And yeah, it was around 5:30. Just got my oil changed after work.

Speaking of which, I hate to get it done at Valvoline (since they don't use the Mazda S2 filters we're supposed to), but they're they first place I've taken it to that I didn't have to tell to use conventional 5W-20. Slightly impressed. But then it came back to reality when they took 15 minutes to find my filter :/

 

hello ben busy and off forums for awhile rx8 is coming together turbo kit is half way being custom built hoping to be boost by next winter looking to try to set up a rx8 meet this spring have a get together invite the cincy folks up and ill be attending dgrr if anyone is going maybe get a caravan going

 

Anyone in the area know of a trunk lid with spoiler delete for sale or a salvage yard that has any RXs in it.

Had Byers send me a friendly email trying to buy my car today lol. Said I could bring it in to have it appraised. Kind of tempted, but it really doesn't matter since I wouldn't give it up anyway.

I finally bought winter tires now that I have to drive more than a mile to work. Makes a world of difference really, should have just done it back when I got the car and saved myself some headache.

I'd like to join in sometime soon. I've been at an MBA event all weekend though. I also still have my snow tires on the car, hoping to get those changed out soon as it looks like the weather is finally on a permanent upswing.

I'd love for a weekend cruise sometime. So far this place has been pretty inactive and I haven't seen anything about a meetup around here.

Also, I keep seeing someone in a Sunlight Silver GT on 315 N near 270. Has a "Save the ring" bumper sticker or something similar. Wouldn't happen to be any of you, would it?
