It's a done deal. The RX-8 is gone . I was able to keep it in the Mazda family though, and now have a new CX-5

As it turns out, I sold the car with the snows and crappy wheels on it. That means I have 4 stock wheels with tires that would make it through another season. Any interest? Pass the word on. I'll make a great deal. Local pickup in Hilliard only. No shipping

If anyone in Columbus is looking for an RX8, PM me through this site. My oldest recently turned 16, so I needed a vehicle for him, and it just isn't financially smart to carry 4 cars for 3 drivers, when the RX8 is essentially a toy.....and I will start paying college tuition in another year. I will keep the car if I don't get a reasonable price, so feel free to send me lowball offers so that I can refuse them.....at least then I can tell the wife I tried!!!

Car is a 2005 RX8 GT, velocity red with black leather and 6 speed manual. All options expect nav. All original with no suspension or engine mods. Onlyl 50,300 miles. New Yokohoma tires with less than 3,000 miles on them. 35% window tint, overall excellent condition. New power window motor and windshied installed in past week. ONLY issue with this car is a hairline crack on the dash, which is a very common problem in cold weather climates.

I'm kind of in the same boat. Third kid on the way so won't have much use for the awesome little 8. So I'm selling mine too.
I haven't lived in Columbus for a few years (still got a bunch of family there though), but have you tried posting on Columbus Racing?

Thanks for the advice Jon. I actually just sold the car over the weekend. Ended up selling it outright to Germain Mazda. I sold it for a little less than I was hoping, but in the end it was still a good deal as far as I'm concerned.

 

2006 Copper Red Shinka Owner here in Westerville.

If anyone out there is interested I always go to Columbus Cars & Coffee every saturday at the Lennox Downtown (~8:00 AM-12:00PM). Gets a little lonely there because I am always the only one with a rotary engine... If anyone here wants to stop by and say Hi or cruse around i'm cool with that.

 

Is your 8 by chance blue or silver? If so, I drive past you just a week or so ago along sunberry just past the dam. I was the copper red one haha.

I'll be at CC&C this Saturday if you want to meet up with a bunch of car enthusiasts. We get an average of about 40+ people each week and a lot of different vehicles. I will not be in my 8 however because I have a LOT Of vac leaks in my intake and I cannot get my 8 to stay running for more then 3 seconds right now. Working on repairs though. If your out and about I'll be doing repairs tomorrow so If you see a shinka sitting In a driveway in pieces then that's me... Haha

 

It was fun today at Cars and Coffee. I got to meet aschutz there and had a great time

If anyone else is interested Columbus Cars and Coffee is every Saturday 8:00 AM - 12:00PM rain or shine at the Lennox over by OSU. People come around 9ish and just have fun and talk cars.

If there are any more 8 owners in the Columbus/Westerville area who want to ride or cruse sometime to cars and coffee then toss a reply here and we could set up a nice big RX-8 caravan all the way down there. Anyone else think that would be fun?

 

Sorry for the late notice but found out that there will be a Mazda meet in Westerville tomorrow (June 22nd). It is at the Blendon Woods Metro Park and will start at 12:00. All Mazda types are invited so I figured I'd go and ensure RX-8s are well represented.

Anyone know of the next Mazda/Rx-8 meet up coming soon?

If anyone in Columbus wants to make our own 8 meet up then i'm down. We could all meet up at Easton and caravan downtown and get a drink near Nationwide Arena? I'm open to ideas if anyone has one.
