Someone here at the office is selling some tires and I told him I would throw them up here for him.

2 New Dunlop SP Sport 8090 - 225/45/18
3 Used Dunlop SP Sport 8090 - 225/45/18 (~15,000 mi)

Current price new on TireRack is $264.00 each. All 5 tires can be yours for $400.

Any questions can be posted here and I will pass them along. If someone is interested in purchasing them I will provide an email address and a phone number so you can deal directly with him.

Bingo!

I SHOULD sell it to pay for mine since it'd be a nice karmic reward for having to wait this long. But I already sent an email off to Jason at the store about it. I'm sure if he just grabbed the box and sent it off I wasn't the only one who he doubled up on. Guy might be terrible at managing stock but he sells things cheap and did nix my shipping cost for the delays. Probably deserves a heads up if he just shipped a bunch of people bonus ducts.

Maybe I should see how my car runs with two ducts first...

I have no clue. Sunday at the earliest but probably not until next week sometime. I may take an entire day and just do all of it tho I still need to get some things to manage the sways so those might be a while if I can't get new tools/equipment (ie. jack, torque wrench, anything else I need for these two installs that I've missed and I don't know about).

I'm sure I'll mention that I can use help tomorrow night after I get some beers into some people who coincidently already have done intake swaps. There's at least three of you on this thread.

Just let me know when and I'll help.
I'm off Fridays through Mondays (though I usually work OT on Mondays).
You won't need anything special for the intake, just some metric wrenches and sockets.
And it'll REALLY help to have a 12" extension.
No need to jack the car (for the intake).

No! I finally get something no one else around here has...

Bought 'em from Ray @ BHR. I PM'd you the price but needless to say it's a very good one. I was going to get them from a different site (http://www.neverenoughauto.com/) and had I ordered a month ago it would have been a few bucks less but they raise their prices on the Progress. If I were you I'd order it now if he still has 'em in stock (I think he said he had 1 pair left). If he's out you might want to go to never enough. I believe if you ask for some guy named Brad he might cut a better deal then listed. Go to the last page of the thread TeamRX8 posted in the suspension forum regarding his Progress purchase. Something about getting the biggest stiffy yet.

I'll just have to be content with being the ony one on my block with a Borla.

Might be better that way!
Can't have two 8s with the RB intake, mid-pipe (if you go with MazSport's), and similar exhaust within this part of the state.

If you do it on Monday I'll come out and help/watch. I have a torque wrench you can borrow if you want...just picked it up the other day for like $20 so I could swap out my wheels. I can also throw my jack in the car along with like 40 people if need be...for as shitty as this damn Cobalt is it has one BIG trunk.

Definitely not doing it on a Monday. Work and all that. I also need a torque wrench that has a pretty low setting. I think the RB sway install mentions ~18lbs torque. Most of the torque wrenches for wheels start at 25 and go to 100-150.

Now that I've been corrected about what to torque our wheels to (108) I'm probably gonna buy two torque wrenches. One for light and one for the wheels.

Thanks! That does seem like a decent price, although if I told you what price I almost bought them for back when I sold parts as a part time gig, you'd cry. When I tried to order them about a year and a half ago from my wholesale distributor they were on backorder for months. I finally canceled the order after getting sick and tired of waiting around. I wish I hadn't. I can't order wholesale now that I shut down my business.

Oh well. Save up my pennies, I guess.

Anyone coming to Nelson Ledges tomorrow?

If there were a lot of us going I would consider.
My friend told me that watching isn't much fun there because you can't see most of the track.
Would suck if I showed up alone AND couldn't really watch.

I'm sure but there's a good argument that paying the premium was worth not having to wait for 'em. I love buying things listed as in stock that are actually in stock. Plus Ray seems like a good guy. Definitely a big change from most everywhere else I've ordered parts from for my 8. If you get 'em feel free to mention me so he gives you the same price.

It's not too bad. IIRC you can stand in a place where you can see a car coming through the kink and all the way down the back into the big, sharp final curve and then down the front straight. But it's been a while since I went there to watch (the 12 hour enduro 2 years ago I think). Lots more fun to drive.

Thas kewl...the rest of the week I am going to be free after work with the exception of what appears to be Thurs for the c6c meet. Should have my car back by then though so you will have to do without the 40 ppl. :P

I picked up my torque wrench at Harbor Freight over here. I won't be able to make the AutoX on Sat because it is starting too late...but it is within walking distance. (Instead of making the left into the parking lot keep going and make a left at the first light.) They even had a really nice digital one on a clearance table...I didn't think I needed to be that precise though. If you end up not making the AutoX there is one in Parma on Pearl.

And if you don't mind me asking. Where did you get the 108 number from? Everyone has told me 90 lbs so far and the 18 lbs difference seems like it would matter.

Swoop posted it with a helpful 'Search n00bs!' to someone with ~1500 posts in the Tech section in my post about tools.

Do a ride along with someone and after that, climb up in the tower in the paddock area, you get a pretty good view of 75-80% of the track.

Went over to the body shop today. They are thinking Mon or Tues I will have my car back. It is taking so long because the sheet metal that is behind the headlight got tweaked when I hit the sign and they need to replace it and then straighten the frame out. I did however get rid of the Cobalt today. Since I will be at MidOhio all weekend there is no sense in paying for that POS to sit in my garage.

Ya know if you had a good insurance company you would have been able to get the rider for a rental on your policy. Pays for itself if you have one incident and if you do it now it almost guarantees that you'll never need to use it in the future. Somehow insurance companies know you have that so they make sure your car isn't targeted by random trees/signs.

Glad you're getting your ride back this quick.

Just a reminder there is the charity event tomorrow at noon - walk ups are more than welcome. Raffling off a TON of stuff, tindol/tri-point/horton motorsports shirts, 50 dollars in kumho bucks, 100 tattoo gift certificiate, auto zone gift cards, baskets of car detailing goodies... and lots of food! teams of 5 will still happen.

If you plan on walking up to register please be there by 12 - 1215 to register and get tech inspection

See those of you coming out tomorrow!
