Whew, it's been a while since I managed to venture back over to here. Thanks to everyone that came out on Saturday to the charity event. Megan and I both appreciate it.

And sorry I had to beat up on you guys with my Focus, hehehe. Next event I'll have the 8 out there for sure.

Mark, how was the autocross on Sunday? We didn't make it back up, my buddies going away party involved a little more drinking then we had originally anticipated

I got my *** kicked. I'm really frustrated.

Jennifer Payne beat me by 6 hundreths of a second.

Man, that Ross is fast. He whipped everybody by a full second. I was the only 8 there.

I gotta find a way to do better in the hairpin turns. I lose way too much time. I'm really frustrated.

Brake earlier, make your turn later, and don't get off maint. accelleration until you're straight. Nothing else you can do...

Except get some front sways which will help you get more understeer/oversteer.

eah Ross is definately fast. I was talking to him at the 4th event, nice guy. And you say 6 hundreths of a second... as in .006? If so good work man, Either you are getting better or she was off her mark, or they were on street tires, lol.

I wish we could have made it up but Megan wasn't exactly, how you say, able to sit in a car for longer then 15 minutes without access to a bucket or toilet.

Heh. Competition is good for you, Tony.

BTW - There's someone in the competition/racing forum talking about chunking his 8's tires at Nelson's on Friday. Did you end up going there?

So my 3 day repair appears that it is going to now take 2 full weeks to complete. For some reason the speed at which the body shop works is based upon the cost of the parts not based upon the amount of work actually required to be done. I don't understand it...but according to them any repair over $5K takes at least two weeks normally three. According to them I should be happy that I might get my car back this week.

I don't know if I should be offended or not, so I'll remain neutral.

Anyhow, no, I didn't end up going. I decided to save the money for a future event (namely August 8th). I'll have to go check out that thread.

Shocking. Something related to automobiles taking longer than expected. What's next? Are you going to claim they also will be charging you more than expected?

All the dealing I've had with dealerships/installs/parts over the last few months have just caused me to consider getting into the business. Half of these shops are run by mechanics. Just partnering with a good one and providing actual good business practice with cost/cust service would basically set you up for life.

Oh well.

What's on 8/8? That another Fun Day?

It's the lines tony, and coming in too fast in the corners. Car is plowing on me. I just can't get the feel. It's HOW MUCH to brake, not when.

Huh?

I'm sorry, I think I'm confused. I don't think I was involved in the comment that you quoted.

Are you asking for help or something? I may not be the one to ask.

I fixed that, remember. It was a loose motor mount. Thanks for the info anyway.

Mark, what brake pads are you using? They do make a difference, you may have to use a different set up. Talk to Eric or Jay Storm (he drives the blue/green subie), they can offer you some useful information.

Any one else joining us for Smackdown, version II?
