We'll start you off easy John.
Maybe when you do your catback swap, we can coach you from the sideline while you're under the car.

Oh snap!
I only WISH that your bolts are as tough as Steve's were with that comment!

You are all great LOL I really appreciate it!

I do have a camber kit to install, short throw shifter, new front bumper/grill (mine cracked from a snow bank, oops), HID fogs, and smoked side markers . I know that I'm able to install everything except the camber kit. I love to learn how to install but I don't dare touch anything I know nothing about LOL

Camber Kit?
You plan on doing a lot of high speed turns?
And you do realize you can adjust camber with the stock setup yourself... right?

I do drive aggressively. I know I have a problem. I get my monies worth with my car everyday LOL

I'm lowered over 2 inches and my camber in the rear is horrible! Again, I don't know much when it comes to this stuff but I'm trying to learn. I have done 1 auto-x but I would like to do more and would also like to do a track event this year. Plus, I'm sick of going thru tires.

But you do realize that more negative camber will wear the tires more.

That's why I bought the camber kit, to correct the negative camber. Again, I'm not the brightest crayon in the box when it comes to this stuff LOL

Is that diagram for the 3?

But why would you need a kit for that?

jem0473- If you were talking about modding a Mazda3, then disregard the instructions above.
I don't think the 3 has adjustment "notches" like the 8, but you can probably just take the car to an alignment shop and have them correct your negative camber.

Ok cool, thank you. I had an alignment when I got lowered and I'm still sideways LOL

Jem, you're in massillon as well, eh? Awesome! My wife and i just moved there at the end of december. She's originally from Mass though. Well, should you happen to see a black-cherry red 8 running around, that'll most likely be me. though not this time of year. the car's parked until about april. For now i am driving a 92 4x4 ranger. tall, slightly rusted, obnoxiously loud monstrosity. man i love that thing.

Funny thing this morning happened. Got out of the truck at work and this rusted metal piece just fell to the ground. was roughly 2"x2" and about a 1/4" thick. no idea what it came from. i looked all over the driver side door and area and couldnt tell what it was from. ahh well, the door opens and closes just fine so... whatever. lol

I just moved out of Massillon a few months ago... but you'll still catch me running around on 21 and rt 30....

On the DIY thing... tint isn't something you really want to do yourself, in my opinion. I've seen botched tint jobs too many times.

Jon - I'll be up to your place around 11 on Sunday. Forecast says high in the low 30s.... so Doc, I hope you have a space/garage heater.

Jon - we can do the kill switch before or after at your place if you want to drive your car, but I'm assuming that may have changed with the weather.

So - Just chime in with your thoughts... Next mod: I want to do all these eventually, but the order is messing me up. Also, I know I'll need coils soon...

Tint: 220 bucks
Short Shifter: 240
Used ACT flywheel + counterweight: $300 (Jon: that one is 9.8 lbs, when the BHR one is 8.9)
Horn: 50 bucks... (yes, I actually use my horn about 4-6x per day.)

Mods i hope to do / have done before i take the car out:

RB intake and duct, protective screens on the front bumper (figure do both at same time since bumper has to come off anyway). Really want to do the screens. I am one to make most of my time / situation so the intake just makes sense. Hate retracing my steps for about anything. I know the midpipe is a better upgrade to do than the intake for true gains... but this is a more logical approach given the situation. Maybe exhaust. we'll see.

I'm very pleased with my "keep the car running" mod. Its nice not always have one foot feathering the gas to keep it from dying.

But what to do first???
