30K service

Danvers MA mazda dealership quoted about 700 bucks for a 30k Service. Has anyone gotten a better deal at any other dealerships? 700 is just outright robbery.

Dude what dealer is *** raping you? I paid like 350+ tax and that was the oil change, tranny fluids flushed and switched to redline synthetic, brake line flush and switched to DOT 4 synthetic and a few other tid bits and bought some parts for my 8!

It sounds like he's grouping the 30K and the 37K into the 30K service. You need to break down the work thats actually being performed. I did everything except the spark plugs at the 30K service and postponed that charge to the 37K.

I'm guessing he's quoting you on: tranny, engine oil, rear diff, air filter, spark plugs, cabin filter?, and standard check and lubricate all joints.

Ask what he is doing. If it's not in the manual don't do it.

I know my dealership "advises" you to do a $300 check up instead of a $40 oil change.

Be careful...they can make it close to 1k. Have them break it down for you...and only get necessary things b/c they can do some useless **** that isn't necessary or that you can do yourself...and they are all priced heavily.

700 bucks for ya? Quoted me $550.. I paid $520-something after dropping a bunch of unnecessary stuff, adding brake fliud change which is in the manual but was not included in the original 30K estimate, and adding trailing plug change (35K).

See my thread when I had my 30K service at that dealership.

Also see my posts in this thread where I reference exactly what I had done for 30K.

Thanks for everyones feedback. This forces me to do alot of things on my own. I just bought new leading and trailing plugs. Im going to look at em this weekend to see if they need to be changed out. That's probably the biggest cost savings from the service. I'll probably do the brake, tranny and rear diff fluid from the DIY posted. There shouldn't be much more than inspection other than that which may take up to 1hr or 1.5 at the most.

Good luck but I would recommend you get a friend who knows cars to help you if you have never done any of that before. Better safe than sorry bro, but best of luck
