Hey guys,

I was wondering something.I don't have my RX-8 anymore, and actually I have not owned it longer than I did own it,but I still have a couple of rotaries, and I love the Lake George area so much I thought of moving up there.I was wondering if I could come up for this with either my 79 GS,or my RE/PU.Either one won't keep up with you guys in power,or handling, but I don't mind being a caboose. This event is a couple of weeks after my anniversary, and it could be our get-away from the kids for a little time to an area of the country we love.

So whattya say,can a rotary lover of some 10 years with multiple mazdas come along even though I don't own an 8 anymore? For reference I was at a gathering this past fall at Jordans furniture in Natick MA with my 7,and my 4 year old boy.Thanks.

Well this would just be with my wife, and no kids.I am thinking this could be a late anniversary getaway if we can find someone to watch the kids.

I don't really know anyone aside from meeting Oleg, and a few of the others a few times, but we all have a love for Mazda, and their little engine that could.I ran it by my wife, and she is open to the idea if we can get a sitter for the weekend.Has there been any finalization on hotels/discounts,and the route,or is that still up in the air?I assume the dates are etched in stone. Thanks guys, and I will deffinately try to make this event.I will let you know either way real soon, and then I need to figure out which vehicle to bring. The car is way more comfortable/reliable,but the truck is way more unique.

Drk is working on hotels for the group.

The dates are set in stone.

The route is still being worked out, tho it will follow the route described in the first post. There will be a minor change or 2 in order to get to Lake Placid b/c that's the only place that can realistically accomodate the # of people we have.

I'd bring the car. You want a little more reliability there, plus you'll enjoy the twisties better.

Chris, I met you at the jordans meet. I had the black yellow accent 8. I no longer have my 8 either but I'm sure you'll have no problem keeping up with my mazda3 and Clav's auto 8...we'll be bringing up the rear of the train and catching all the stragglers and flooded 8's we might have a busy day at that...

You should be good now. The new suspension stuff should add ~ 20hp to make up for the auto . . .

Tho we still may need to tow you the last few miles to the nearest gas station.

Hey don't lump me in with the bottom-feeding boingers in the back! At least it is still a rotary. Don't underestimate the power of the SA22C!!

Just kidding I will for sure be in the back with my 100 hp,and wheezing 12A breathing through an open dual exhaust, and header.

I am really looking forward to this, and hopefully we can get a sitter for the boys.

Off topic question for Clav or any Auto rx8 owner.

I have a manumatic on the 3 and in manual mode when I tell it to shift it takes a slight delay before it actually shifts. Sometimes maybe a sec or so, and I just sit there waiting for it to shift. It's really throwing my "smoothness" off big time. I'm starting to learn when's the best time to shift so it shifts at the point that I want, I was just wondering if the auto 8 works this way or if it shifts instantly...

You may now return to your scheduled program...

There is a slight delay at times. More so when I use the paddleshifters, when i use the shift **** its almost instant. That and it depends on peddle pressure to I've noticed. If at WOT (foot to the floor here) there is definatly a delay of a second or so, but normaly there is atleast a .5 sec delay. Worst is when gunning it in first foot to the floor and you shift but it doesnt and your red lining at 45mph lol

I have no update on the hotel yet. The two places I have tried, one of which is the Crown Plaza wants $149.00 for a standard room with two doubles. That's their GROUP rate! I told them TWENTY ROOMS!

I am waiting for a call from Priceline from their Group Buy department. I called them today and someone was supposed to call me back. No dice. I will try again tomorrow. There is a Comfort Inn there that I am going to try too.

Sorry nothing more guys. I was out of town on business a couple days last week and will be on the road tomorrow and Friday as well.
